Hotep Salqu,

Adding you to my prayers.  May Wepwawet keep the way open for you so that you find something that you like and that will pay the bills.

I thought perhaps you might be a jackal when you started posting on the boards from one jackal to another - Hang in there.

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: Prayers for deceased
« on: May 17, 2017, 10:10:56 pm »
Em hotep Lira,

When my fur babies passed away I had each one of them cremated and I've kept their ashes with me so that I can talk to them any time that I want to as well as put out little bits of offerings of the liquid and food they loved in life.

The House does have a 70 day prayer that is said for the deceased (human) 70 days after they have passed from this world.   I have used parts of that prayer for my animals when they passed away.

As mentioned prior, any type of prayer is a good one.  It does not have to be something perfect, but rather a prayer is your own heart speaking so you make it what you want it to be or say.   You can offer the prayer and any offerings up to the deceased pet and if you wanted to the Name that was the protector of that particular animal (if there was a God associated with that type of animal).  I've done it for my cats and then offered it up to Bast for example and my dog to Yinepu as well for their protection in the west.

Hope that helps.

Hi again!

Yinepu does like to watch cartoons (at least he does with me) and that is still one of my favorite things to do and I'm no spring chicken.  He has such a dry sense of humor sometimes and others he makes me just crack up.   I offer him toys and hard candy and puzzles.

You'll forge your own relationship with Him.  You'll have your own ways of knowing when He's around.  I'd be interested in hearing about them.  :)

Take care.

Hello Cinder,

It's a good question :)

For me personally ...I found the Temple after about 20 years of looking.   I tried a lot of different ones before I found this one.  After being here for almost 20 years now I can't imagine being anywhere else.   I never thought I would find an actual functioning Egyptian temple but here it is ...and its a living breathing community as well.

Being K.O. means that I have a support group of like minded people who may not believe exactly as I do in regard to the Egyptian deities but it's very close and each of us is respectful of other opinions and experiences and beliefs.   I feel this is a safe place to ask questions and learn along side my peers.

I've made lifelong friends, some of which I've known for as long as I've been with the House. I feel so fortunate to have found my spiritual home and a way to relate to the Divine in my own terms ..I've never been so connected to Nature and the Divine and its a blessing.
I wanted something that could offer me a community.  I also wanted a group that could offer me the opportunity to learn and to serve the Gods.  I've had a dream of serving Netjer for as long as I can remember in a very specific field.  I get to fulfil a promise I made prior to joining back in 1997.  The House has both an online and in person community of loving, caring and giving individuals.   I am proud of my beliefs and I have brought my children and my grandchildren up with knowledge of the Gods and the services I do.

As I said, I can't imagine being anywhere else.   Have a great upcoming week!

Hello Salqu:

I would agree with everyone's posts.   I've experienced Netjer in different ways.  I have a particular oil I use during Senut and I know that Yinepu likes it.  I've been at work and other places when out of nowhere I'll get a whiff of it and I know that this is His sign to me that's He is around.  I've had other Names drop stuff off shelves in front of me if its something meant for me to see.

Sometimes when I'm talking to other members in the House I will hear Yinepu talking to me about something that person is saying to me (especially when it comes to the akhu).  Its usually something that he wants to share with them.

I believe that once you are open to an idea anything is possible.

I will add all of you to my prayers.

That was really kind of you to stay there with Chris, she needed someone to just be there for her so she could let it out.  You were there at the perfect time to help her.  I hope she is able to break her cycle and get help.  Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.

I come from a family of abusers and I've seen this behavior in my own relatives and it hurts to see folks you care about suffering and going down that road.  My husband, my aunt and little sister and my nephew all battled substance abuse.  My aunt is the only one still alive but she still has not hit rock bottom.  I don't know what else it will take for her to stop but she's running out of time.
You take care of yourself.

Em hotep Tanefer,

Nice to see you again.  Welcome back.

Hi everyone,

I really like all the links you've posted here.  I love the cool night lights of the falcon and the jackal.  I've got to see if they still have one of the Yinepu (Anubis) night lights left ...that is a must have item in my book :)

Thank you for sharing ...that is quite the history.  I did have the pleasure of meeting Dr. Schaden in Orange County back in the early 2000's at an ARCE lecture.  I really enjoyed the lecture and meeting him.   I'd be interested in hearing more about the Valley of the Kings and the ongoing work on KV-63 :)

Have a great week everyone.  Thanks again for taking your time to add to this post.

Em hotep Tippy,

I'm really sorry to hear of your troubles.   I will add you, your husband and your son to my prayers.  May Tawaret, Bes, Sekhmet, Wepwawet (to keep the way free of obstacles) watch over all of you.

Take care.
