Surgery (But It's A Good Thing!)
« on: May 19, 2017, 03:47:14 pm »
Em hotep, all!

After several disappointments and then some truly fortunate timing, I'm scheduled to have top surgery in July. I am fantastically excited . . . and scared poo-less by logistics.

The surgeon I'm working with is based in Colorado, so for this Wisconsinite who doesn't travel really at all, this is like planning a vacation which most assuredly will not be a vacation in the slightest. Thankfully, and to my surprise, my dad's agreed to spend a few days with me, although he's medically squeamish, so I'll have to hire some form of in-home (in this case, in-hotel) nursing care to help out until I'm lucid enough to take care of myself.

*pauses and flails*

In short, I have some of the pieces together--surgery's booked, hotel's booked--but flights and the actual process are all still pretty . . . fuzzy. Any prayers you might have to spare for this to be a smooth process, as stress-free as possible, and for a speedy-o recovery (this ain't my first rodeo, re: surgery, but drains scare me . . .) would be greatly appreciated. <3

Also, interestingly enough, my date of surgery (July 18th) is the one-year anniversary of my RPD. (I certainly didn't expect the surgeon to have availability so soon!) Maybe it's a coincidence, but I'm rather curious if Papa and Mama haven't dug some helping hands into this. ;)

Thank you all so very, very much.
Senebty,
Gezausenu.

Prayers, Gezausenu! I hope the surgery goes well, you recover quickly,  and the results are all you could possibly have hoped for.

Em hotep, everyone!

Thank you so very much!

Everything is still falling smoothly into place so far. I'm heartened and so grateful for all of your wonderful support! <3

Nearly everything is essentially booked, minus a few loose ends, so now I just have two months to whittle away. ;)

Honestly, one of the things I'm most looking forward to is performing Senut once I'm all pure post-op. TMI--I don't bind my chest in Senut / while in ritual whites because I want to appear before my Parents and Beloveds as I am, wholly, in this body, even if that might mean a degree of discomfort: one must learn to live, to a certain degree, with the discomforts of the moment. Sit with them, learn from them . . . That and there's such a sacred space created between myself and the Gods that I don't feel so dysphoric about that part of my body anyway, at least during Senut itself.

But! But. I'm very much looking forward to that first post-op Senut, anyway. <3

Thank you all again so much for your support and prayers.

Senebty,
Gezausenu.
