Question about the 14 Powers of Amun-Ra
« on: November 09, 2017, 05:27:41 pm »
Em Hotep!

I came across something in my research that mentioned about Sia, Hu, Heka, Irer and Sedjem being 'members' of Amun-Ra's 14 creative powers. I'm very interested in learning more about the other members and what they represent etc, but am having a hard time finding resources online that refer to this. Was hoping someone on here either knows info about this they are willing to share or could point me towards resources that would likely contain information on this?

I don't know the translations for all the words, but heka (aside from the deity) means both magic and authoritative speech, and sedjem means to listen. I suspect someone with a better knowledge of Middle Egyptian will be able to translate the other terms for you.
