Em Hotep,
Getting to know the names can be eventful and awsome. I agree with everything said here on this thread and also offer some advice as well.
Take a deep breath and relax, calm your mind, I find that if you go to a place like a park, stream, river, ect. That you can relax and connect with Netjer and while connecting with Netjer you can hear the Names speak to you more clearly.
I suggest this because dorms can be rought with disruptive energies, and if you are sensitive to the energies may cause you to feel unbalanced and not able to hear them speak.
But by going to a place that is quiet and sit in nature you can become one with the Netjer and listen and observe The names. they are everywhere.
Here is a trick that I have used several times.
Go to a body of water and offer it something asking that if a name is wishes to speak, you are listening. Also you can as I do at work alot, on a brake I sit outside and if I notice an animal watching me I talk to them and normally a name will talk back or at the very least you may get a response later in the day.
These are just simple things you can do, and may be of help.

Coming from my own experiences, the names can come to you in some very weird and interesting ways. The two gods that I've had a real solid connection with have been Set and Sekhmet. Set first came to me when I was just doing research into the different names and then soon as I scrolled over him there was abit of a *ding* feeling and started building on that..Now he won't leave me alone. :P Sekhmet has been a very interesting experience. Before joining the KO I gave her offerings from time to time if I needed help with anything medical, then after awhile nothing. Suddenly a few weeks ago I was studying Anatomy&physiology and in the midst of trying to focus on how this does that, what causes this etc. etc. Sekhmet suddenly showed up in the back of my mind. Not in a very obvious way. But in more of a lioness stalking manner, where you can't see them but you have that feeling that she is there. Trying to sort of playing it off saying "Oh I'm just being paranoid" I kept getting more and more vibes and then got a solid confirmation just the other night that it was her. Anyways, those are just my two stories that I felt like sharing. Senebty, Cody

Haku, that is very odd - I've had almost the exact same experience, except backwards. I had thought, because of my love for books and writing, that I would be closer to Djehuty (if I've gotten the Name correct) or perhaps Ptah. No, when I felt most alone and in need, it was Sekhmet Who answered me, Who allowed me to cry on Her shoulder, and Who administered either a comforting embrace or a salutary smack as needed. Set is another Presence I honor; He can be harsh, but, like the desert He rules, oh, so beautiful. For me when one is present, the other is never far away.
