Ok, I've read a lot about RPD and such on here, but I am wondering, is there a specific order required or wanted in how one does RPD, classes, naming, etc? I got an idea that most do the classes, then RPD, then naming. Is this correct? Required this way? Can I request an RPD before I take classes, and would it be rude to do so?
If there is a set order to do all this, I'm cool with that, I just don't know if what I see is the "most traveled" path, or the "must travel" path. If there is a "must travel" one at all.

The understanding that I've picked up from my lurking is that the beginner's class is a required prerequisite to the RPD, as the RPD is unique to Kemetic Orthodoxy and you need to have an understanding of Kemetic Orthodoxy before undertaking one of its rites. However, note my 'guest' status when reading my response. I could well be wrong - it's just what I've concluded from what I've read.

Yes, that is the case.

Ok, that makes sense. I'm mostly curious as to who mine might be, but I am also planning to join the next beginner's class anyway - just need to edit my application a little.
So, I'll keep asking questions. It does make sense to want people to be more aware of where something is coming from before they jump into a rite like that. I guess one wouldn't want it to become something "fashionable" or whatnot.

In my opinion, it's more than it becoming "fashionable" - it's the idea that the RPD is a rite unique to Kemetic Orthodoxy; it's like having a Catholic baptism as an adult without undergoing RCIA and/or prior to joining the Catholic church; it's not exactly logical.

Exactly, for us the Rite of Parent Divination is a rite of passage just as confirmation is a rite of passage for a Catholic

I do not think that it could become something "Fashionable" as it is required to take Beginners' classes before undertaking the RPD.

yes, exactly. RPD is a rite of passage for a religion, not a quizilla quiz you fill in some ticky boxes for (does quizilla still exist? i feel old), so it's important to know what you're doing and what you're getting involved with.

If it were merely fashionable, it wouldn't be permanent. Your parent(s) are the Dietie's you will serve first and foremost for the rest of your life.

This is incorrect. The RPD is knowledge, not a commitment.
