Ok so Im seeing allot of people posting about this RPD. So I have a few questions? How common is it that someone might know who their parents and beloved's are? Although I could be totally wrong I feel like if I do decide to do this ritual I ready know who will show up? Is that normal?
On the flip side if it were Netjer that I totally dont associate with that does not seem like it would bother me either. Seems like it owuld just be like meeting new friends and growing new relationships.
Does this make any sense? Its just I have heard allot of people say they were anxious about the ritual but I cant imagin an combination or any one nature that would upset me. If I do get an unexpected Netjer then thatwill just be another oppertunity to explore a side of my personality I have yet too.

It seems to vary. Some people end up with parents and beloveds who they have never heard of. Some know exactly who will show up. Some say they'll be upset if they don't get xyz, some are open to however it turns out.

The main point is that it's a rite of passage within the Kemetic Orthodox community. Even though, if you take a Shemsu oath, it's to the Netjeru.

I don't have any firm ideas on mine, but I have my suspicions.

The people posting about the Rite of Parent Divination (or RPD) are generally beginners going through our enquiry class, or Remetj who have already at some earlier time completed such class and decided to become members of Kemetic Orthodoxy. The Rite of Parent Divination is a rite of passage, applicable only to Kemetic Orthodoxy, our own particular practice of Kemetic faith.

As Helmsman said, some such folks believe they have a clear idea of who their divine Parent or Parents might be. Other folks may end up being completely surprised at who their Parents may be. Undertaking this rite is neither required nor essential to be Kemetic Orthodox. It serves a specific purpose and has meaning to those who wish to undertake it.

The Rite is not intended to preclude deep and profound relationships with any other Kemetic deities. It is never intended as a device to confirm (or not) any particular relationships one might already have with any of the Kemetic deities. People need not be anxious about the ritual (and sometimes that is not "anxiety" but rather simply "excitement" at some gained knowledge.

Hotep!

I'm just looking forward to finding out who my parental name/s and beloved/s are! smile Before I came home to Kemetic Orthodoxy I would've said I felt connected with Djehuti but now I am deliberately not focussing on a name/s as requested - and I find that all the more exciting... Can't wait! smile

But, as the Rite of Parent Divination (or RPD) is done with people who do not live in USA? I am Brazilian type that if I wanted to go beyond what I would it take to go through this rite of passage?
And another question: as this ritual is performed?

Hotep!

The Rite of Parent Divination (RPD) is handled the same way for those undertaking it regardless of where in the world they live. Hemet(AUS) meets with the individual undergoing the Rite online and talks with them about the results of the divination as well as answering any questions they have.

Hope that helps! ^_^

Em Hotep, HorusHotep.

Yes, it's done online for those that live far away. Usually via some form of chat. I know in the past it's been done via phone as well, though I think that's more based on the person involved and the time that Hemet(AUS) has available. When I had mine done I was actually living in Italy and got up in the wee hours of the morning so that I could get it done.

Thank you, you should probably be done by using the msn webcam
It is actually easier.
After the Rite of Parent Divination (RPD) and the Neteru is revealed to me, I could worship other gods or I will have to devote to these gods?
What is their role in my life and what my role is concerned with them?

If you decide to take shemsu vows, you must put your RPD gods before others. You can worship other gods, but they come second. You don't have to take the vows at all unless you want to. If you don't take the vows you will be a divined remetj instead of a shemsu.

You parent, or two parents, are the most important. They guide your path in this life. The beloveds are other gods who have chosen to help you. As I said before, you may also talk to gods who are not on your RPD list, as long as your parents and beloveds come first.
