I was totally excited and eager about the RPD as soon as I became Remetj, and I had mine done as soon as possible, with the self-promise that I was allowed to leap in head-first to the RPD, but I'd wait to swear any Shemsu vows, ideally for a year. (This turned out to be an especially good idea, given my results; when I was divined, I didn't know almost anything about Hethert-Nut, and waiting has let me really study and get to know Her before I swear to serve Her for the rest of my life.)

I personally felt I was ready because having/not having a particular Netjeru in my line-up would not be a dealbreaker for me. Yes, there were certainly Names I wanted to see (Ma'ahes!), and Names I was not exactly hoping to see, but I knew I was willing to accept the results as they came and begin the process of understanding them.

The RPD was verymuch an initiation for me, a stepping-through-the-doorway moment, a bright signal that I am willing to walk the Kemetic path. And even though Sekhmet, the only god I'd worshipped for years beforehand, did not show up in my RPD, I don't regret having it done or having it done quickly. All in all, the RPD was a wonderful experience, and I feel my choice of timing worked out pretty well. smile

I just wanted to extend a thank you to everyone who responded here. Reading through your stories has been very helpful as I've attempted to officially come to a decision. I'm happy to share that I filled out my Questionnaire earlier today, and will be placing it on my shrine for the next four days.

The amount of excitement I'm feeling regarding this choice is making me feel like I've come to the appropriate conclusion.
