Tabau - I love your Senut shrine smile. (And, of course, the Jackal on your Akhu shrine smile. ).

Here is a picture of my shrine

Here is my akhu shrine.
I’m still scratching my head about what to put on my ahku shrine sense I’m not a photo person at all.

And also here is my new sistrum I made.
It took several days of hard work which makes me all the prouder of my work.

Not all of the pictures in my Akhu shrine are of people as I don't own any photos of some of them. What I did in those cases was take pictures of their headstones or placed their death announcements from the newspaper on my shrine instead. Those can be found online if you don't have an actual newspaper clipping. If you have anything, some sort of small object that might have belonged to them, that could do nicely as well. Or maybe just a poem that reminds you of them.

I don't have many pictures of my Akhu right now either. What I did instead is put things that remind me of my Akhu on the shrine, along with a book of their names and letters to them. I have rosary beads, miniature musical instruments, a tiny tea set, a cross, jewelry that belonged to my grandma, etc. smile

I have zero* pictures of my Akhu in their shrine. The items they left in my possession invoke their memories so strongly that I haven't felt it necessary to put pictures in there. Never really had many pictures of my Akhu, anyway... =/

(*Though, there is a picture in the funeral programs, but they're not open/visible in shrine)

For a while my Akhu shrine has been rather.. bare, I haven't had anything to put in it, and felt a bit lost. But recently this weekend I've been researching into my ancestry and talking to my grandma. I found out my ancestors were mainly Farmers and Miners, So I'm going to include something to represent that on my shrine smile I'm very excited!

My shrine/altar (calling it a shrine because the shelving part doesn't really change much):

Dunno if it really counts, but shocked
