Hey there guys.

In my journies across the internet and my readings of neo-paganism/reconstructionism/etc... I found this place. I'm very interested to learn about what you guys believe and I was going to take the beginners' course but on the main site (kemet.org) it said that the next group was in September 10, 2011 . Are there any other beginner's groups happening at all? or is the main site just lacking updates?

No you can take the course and then decide what your level of participation will be.

What might be throwing you off is the recommendation that it's a good idea to "join" this forum, which you have already done..?

The beginner's class is mostly an overview of who we are and what we do and there's no commitment involved. If you choose to stay with the House afterwards, then great, if not, well that's peachy too.

Hmm, I went to this site: kemet.org and then clicked on "kemet.org/apply.html" to apply for the beginners' group. Yet, it says that I'm applying to become a member of the House of Netjer.

Maybe I'm in the wrong place here.

Semantics? House of Netjer is both a forum and the name of the Kemetic Orthodox organization (Right? Someone correct me if that's wrong...) itself so I can see how that could be confusing...

Where's Sedjemes? She can explain this so much better than we're doing, lol.

You do not need to be a member of the House of Netjer or plan to convert into the faith to take the beginner's course. The purpose of the course is to let individuals interested in who we are and what we are all about, know just that (who we are and what we're all about). The application is just a request on your part to let us know you are interested in learning about us, and gives the instructors an idea of your religious background, and where you are coming from perspective wise in wanting to know more about us. There is also no cost to take the class, nor any obligation on your part to stay around at all, or convert into the faith once the beginner's class has concluded.

If you have any questions specifically about the beginner's class, please don't hesitate to ask. ^_^
