Title: King and Queen
Post by: Iaityinepu on February 20, 2010, 08:36:29 pm
Well, I have the understanding that our Nisut is still called a 'King' even though she is female.

I also understand that in AE the Kings (pharoahs/nisuts) had Wives = Queens.

Does that mean if our Nisut (king) gets married, her husband would be known as a Queen?

Hotep Iait :)

The exact term for the wife of the Nisut (the main wife at least) was "Great Wife".  They had no word for "queen" which is why those titles for the royal ladies were things like "king's mother, king's sister, etc."

I dunno what a husband to our Nisut might be called. Perhaps you should ask in Her forum.

I asked her in the AtN forum...  LOL..  She said

For a female king, the partner is referred to as a "royal consort," regardless of gender. If I were to marry a woman that woman would be Great Wife; a man would be Great Husband, I suppose.
