I found this handy species list (http://www.digitalegypt.ucl.ac.uk/foodproduction/fishearlyegypt.html), for fish bones found at the Elephantine cemetery and at the Temple of Satet.
I was especially interested in the presence of Syndodontus catfish, being among my favorite aquarium fish.
I also found an article on King Catfish (http://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/narmer.htm), the famous King Narmer, by a familiar author.
Does anybody have any references to catfish being a symbol of Set?

I've not seen any fish to being specific to Set. I've heard that fish could be his, specifically the fish that ate Asar's you-know-what. But nothing else, sadly.

Em hotep *henu*
In the myth about Wesir's dismemberment by Seth it was believed thata catfish swallowed Wesir's penis after Seth threw it into the nile.
I guess that's where the catfish connection to Seth comes from

There is a fish that looks like it has Set's nose.
It carries an electrical current, can swim upside down, is nocturnal, and very intelligent.

Oxyrhynchus is also the name of a city in Upper Egypt.
