...I'm afraid that, since it costs, when it does come time, after I take the beginners' course, that I won't be able to have it done. :(
What can I do?
-
When the time comes, there are options if you speak to Hemet about it. Personally, I asked to make payments since I couldn't afford it all at once.
-
Start saving for it now! A dollar or two a week starts to add up...
-
How much does it cost? And how long after the beginners' classes is it available?
-
We normally pay more to fill the gas tank on our car than the RPD costs. So it's not that much.
-
If I recall, it cost just over $30, and it is available when Hemet (AUS) has time. Tends to be a few weeks after the class ends- you'll have plenty of time to save up for it, if that's really what you'd like to do.. But don't worry about it until after the class is completed!!! Focus on your studies!! xD
-
I believe it's just over $50. $54, isn't it?
-
I think so Tek.
-
There are always payment options! Don't let cost deter you if that is what you choose! Heck, I know some, including me, would be willing to help out if needed!
-

$53, and I agree... start saving a buck here and there now, and before you know it, you'll have enough. :)
As for timing, I would guess that, if you're in the next Beginner's course, RPD info will probably (though, please don't hold me to this complete guesstimate) arrive in your email sometime early next Spring time (assuming you stay on as Remetj, after the Course, that is :) ).
-
Something else to remember is that "when it's time" can be whenever you want or whenever you can afford it once you finish the beginner's course. Absolutely no reason to hurry or be stressed out if it takes you a while to save the money.
-
The RPD is $54. I know this because I just had mine done a few months ago, lol. I joined KO on the first day of 2009, and didn't even join the beginner's class until early 2011. After that, I didn't get my RPD done until this past May. Why? I didn't feel like I was ready yet. Take some time to stop and think about what RPD is and why you want it. If the reason you want it is "because you're curious" or "because you want to know who your parents are", consider the responsibility inherent in knowing this information. If you know who your parents are, wouldn't you feel the need to honor them more?
There's a lot more to RPD than just a forum signature. Just make sure you're truly ready for this sort of commitment; and if you are, then best of luck to you :)
-
I had mine done just a couple of weeks ago and it was $53. But like everyone else said, there's no hurry to get it done. Do it when you are ready both financially and spiritually.
-
I pretty much echo what everyone else has said :) Plus there is other options of payment, I would discuss it with Hemet since she is the one doing the RPD
-
Em hotep
Really, just first take the beginners course. First decide if this faith-community is where you see yourself. The RPD may or may not be something you want or feel need to do by that time.
It is not something toward which to "strive", particularly, other than to think pragmatically. But first things first :) You may decide that you want simply to take your time with for a year or more, even assuming you decide to become a member of the faith after finishing beginners.
-
I have a question but had no idea where else to ask. I did my RPD with the intention to do some translating work for the house as payment. I was able to do some work, but then the project got put on hold, and from there I didn't connect with the person I needed to talk to to continue the project. Life got in the way, basically. I'm in the position to pay for my RPD now, so who do I contact to do so?
-
I would say contact both Hemet and the person with whom you were going to do the work.
-
$53.00, I thought it was over a hundred. Blame my mind for that three digit figure. $53.00 is what I can do, no doubt about that. Does she take money orders because I'm not comfortable with debit cards. Also, do you have to pay first before she'll do it or after?
-
Em hotep!
That would be part of the discussion one has with the Nisut, at the time one has become a Remetj, and has decided to undertake the RPD.
Payment for the RPD can be made in whatever method works for both.
For anyone interested in this faith: The RPD is just one element of the worship and fellowship with the community of faith here in the House of Netjer. The RPD will not make any particular gods love us more (note, all the gods love each of us profoundly), nor will it make us communicate with, or hear better, any particular gods (interaction and communication with the gods can be undertaken quite richly without ever undertaking the RPD).
-
Sounds great to me.
-
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet, but I feel it's important.
The fee is not a gratuity towards Hemet (AUS!!!). The $53 goes towards necessary supplies for the extensive ritual that she performs: this includes the offerings.
-
Yeah, I read the fee goes towards her work and the offerings, which is fine with me.
-
Eep! Reading this thread has made me really excited for when I feel the time is right to undergo by own RPD :)
-
me too!
I can't wait!
-
Em Hotep!
To do this,we must go to some place in the USA?
I`m just saying,because I`m so far away....
-
The RPD usually is done online. Those who have had their RPDs done in person are rare.
-
That is good news.
That is something I want to do,for sure.
-
Wait a second, after reading about the RPD, I thought that the first RPD was free and didn't need to be payed for. Was I wrong?
-
The first RPD? I've never heard of anyone needing multiple RPDs; that would be unnecessary unless the system was so flawed to make it necessary, and then why do it at all if it's that flawed?
There have been cases of people requiring an addition, separate rite for those Beloveds that come later or wanted to wait until later to make themselves known, but those are fairly rare thus far and do have an additional and separate fee.
There is also a separate part of the RPD that rarely gets mentioned; the Akhu divination to receive any messages your Akhu wish to give to you. This divination can also be performed outside of the RPD for an additional, separate fee.
-
There is a cost for the Rite, which covers offerings which need to be made before it can happen. However, if the remetj has financial difficulties they can make arrangements with Rev. Siuda to defray the costs in other ways.
As to what Rawy said about extra beloved, yes this does happen that Someone does not get identified at the beginning or another Name comes up in the interim from the original divination and becomes a part of that more direct connection. It should also be noted that this is not a requirement or some kind of sign of superiority. It doesn't mean the God loves the remetj in question any more or less.
