Title: Hello!
Post by: ListenstoSekhmet on June 02, 2019, 09:58:41 pm
Greetings and peace,

Thanks to all for the information and discussions here!

I've been in relationship with Sekhmet for many years, but its been in the last couple of years that my desire to deepen it has intensified.

I have a simple daily devotional practice to Her and am interested in learning more about Kemetic ritual and prayer. I am seeking knowledge that could help me to refine my practice so that it includes more things that are familiar and pleasing to Her. I am feeling a little hesitation that this may lead to it broadening out into more relationships with other Netjeru, and to a revision of my already-comfortable Hermetic ceremonial practices, but it's the right kind of scary. So here I am dipping my toe in to learn.

I live in the Pacific Northwest and am fortunate enough to be a full time theater professional, mainly in wardrobe with occasional forays into makeup and wigmaking. I'm also a small-scale carver and inlay artist in wood, horn, bone, nonferrous metals, and ivory.

Thank you for admission here, and blessings upon you all!
Bonnie

Hi Capra,

I wish I were on Whidby Island!

No, I work as Wardrobe Supervisor at Portland Center Stage at the Armory, Portland Opera, and various other shows here and there through IATSE Local 28.

Some of my own art can be seen on my (somewhat ugly, outdated) website at jackbirdarts.com.

Bonnie

I poked around your pages, you have some amazing art there, especially the locks and boxes.  Thank you for sharing!

Wow! Your carving is so lovely!

re: Whidbey Island - A friend of mine is an actor there, so I was curious! :D

Neheh and Capra,

Thanks!

I'm moving more and more towards focusing on carving these days, with some metal components. Those locks were difficult and I enjoyed the challenge of making them.

thank you truly but I was led to this site by Horus himself appearing to me in a dream, telling me that I am not alone in my worship to the gods.

I have been worshiping Horus mainly ever since he answered my first prayer to him almost a year ago. It was a hard time for me then. My boy scout troop was disbanded by the sponsor who used the money for their personal gain. I had nothing else except my friends on xbox. And I was in love with the Egyptian gods but was afraid of praying to them out of fear of being hurt by someone who didn't believe in truth. I was looking for a religion that didn't hide the truth, that didn't use its status to abuse wealth and power, but instead spread healing and kindness. So I prayed one day to Horus for help, and after the prayer I went back to my daily routing of playing xbox with my friends, and it was late at night and my grandmother was asleep in the living room at the time with the tv still on. I was in a heated argument with my friends and could barely hear over the yelling, when out of nowhere they both left the party, and at that exact moment when everything was quiet i could hear on my grandmothers tv that they were talking about Egyptians and the Egyptian afterlife, and a few minutes afterwards my friends got back online. Note that they both live in different states, and when they got back into my party they had told me their power went out.

So what do you think of this? I promise that it is a true story.
