Ra-Heruakhety (And Nut at the beginning and end): Carl Nielsen’s Helios Overture (Op. 17).

Danish composer Nielsen wrote Helios in Athens in 1903, inspired by the sun over the Aegean Sea.

This version is by the South Jutland Symphony Orchestra conducted by Niklas Willén.

For starters, a few songs I associate with my Father Yinepu: "Major Tom" by Peter Schilling, and "Black Velvet" by Alanna Miles.

For Set: "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns and Roses, "Wild Thing" by the Troggs, and "1812 Overture" by Tchaikovsky.

For Yinepu - "This Year" by the Mountain Goats, "Souls" by Hippo Campus

For Djehuty - "Blind Leading the Blind" by Mumford & Sons, "Comfort of Strangers" by Bastille

For Set - "Burn the House Down" by AJR, "Hollow Crown" by Ellie Goulding

Love this idea! Playlists are wonderful, it’s always fun to see what music reminds folks of their gods ^^
A forewarning before anyone looks some of these up: anything by Otep is metal, and often times has swears/uncomfortable language.

For Yinepu-Anupet, I like “My Boy Builds Coffins” by Florence + the Machine, as well as “O Death”, the theme song for the video game Until Dawn and “Life is Beautiful” by Sixx:A.M.!

For Sekhmet-Mut, “Unveiled” by Otep!

“I’ve Got Peace Like a River” for Hethert-Nut (not sure who originally wrote it. It’s technically a Christian song but it’s SO Her)

For Bast I like “Roar” by Katy Perry~

For Mafdet, “Confrontation” by Otep!

Still need to find some more for everyone, so I’m excited to see what folks suggest!

For me, it is mostly anything by the jazz artist Sun Ra that I associate with the Netjeru. His music  and philosophy is steeped in Ancient Egyptian Spirituality and it was his music that introduced me to the Netjeru in the first place.

While I usually find Netjer picking songs to deliver messages when They choose  ^_^, I find the following artists are appreciated by the Moms:

Nebt-het:  My Chemical Romance (particularly the Black Parade album [and Welcome to the Black Parade song]).
Serqet:  Scorpions (the sharper/screechier the guitars the better).  She also appreciates speed metal (again with sharp, screechy guitars if possible).

My favourit, must-do-a-bellydance-coreo musics about Yinepu:

Shiva in Exile - Anubis

Septicflesh - Anubis (yep, I love metal)

About Hethert (some of them is also must-dance-to-it ones):

Dolapdere Big Gang - Naughty Girl (I actually learnt an erotic-bellydance fusion to it)

Cultus Ferox - Sarah

Irfan - Nehet

The snippet of lyrics in my signature is from “Roses” by Poets of the Fall, which I associate strongly with the Netjeru and my own personal relationship to Them and to religion/spirituality as a whole.

For my personal line-up theses songs come to mind.

Heru-sa-Aset:

"Every Breath You Take" - The Police
"Got My Mind Set On You" - George Harrison
"Carry On My Wayward Son" - Kansas
"I Would Walk 500 Miles" The Proclaimers

Set:

"Funhouse" - Pink
"Bad to the Bone" - George Thorogood
"Sympathy for the Devil" - The Rolling Stones
"Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" - The Animals

Nut:

"The Tide is High" - Blondie
"Circle of Life" - The Lion King

Aset-Serqet:

"I've Put a Spell On You" - Screaming Jay Hawkins version and Nina Simone version
"Black Magic Woman" - Santana

-

These are just a few songs that I've come up.  Nut and Aset-Serqet are a little harder for me to associate with songs compared to Set and Papa.  But it's an ongoing journey.   ;D
