Title: Statue Identification
Post by: Sebtuibast on May 04, 2021, 06:57:30 pm
I picked up this statuette at Pantheacon in 2017. I was immediately attracted to it, and the vendor mentioned it was a replica of a netjeri from the tomb of Ramses II. I've not had success finding anything similar, and he's been chilling on my akhu shrine for now.

Does anyone recognize this form? Its got the body of hippo similar to Taweret, paired with many rows of teeth like Sobek, and a cross-hatched solar disk with scorpion. Could also be a tourist sculpt that got a bit creative ;D. Speculation welcome.

This "replica" may be an adaptation of a statue. The scorpion posed like that I've only seen in Aset-Serqet images, reminds me of an image of Sety I praising Her.
