Post by: Tutankhamen on July 05, 2021, 08:19:41 pm
Is there a prayer for ressurection? I want to ressurect my guinea pig named Herman and I want him back.

Not entirely sure what you mean here, but there are prayers for the human dead, typically done 70 days after their death, to help ensure a place in the Duat for them. Someone might have a similar ritual for animals and pets.

I want to bring him back from the dead. I want to enjoy being with him again for another 5 years

Em hotep,

Unfortunately, there is no way to bring people or beloved animals back from the dead.
It's incredibly hard whenever we grieve for the loss of a loved one and I know each of us have wished we could have just a few more years with them.

The grief might feel overwhelming right now, but it gets easier to carry; a metaphor I like is that the grief never gets smaller, we just grow larger around that grief.

Beautifully put, Ra’awy 💜 I like that a lot.

If it helps with grieving, you can always set up a little shrine for Herman! It’s not “standard practice” per KO, but I myself and I believe a couple other folks have a little shrine for passed pets and other non-god/non-human spirits they may honor. I myself have one that has my old kitty Mushu on it, in his urn. You can put pictures or favorite toys of Herman on it, offer water if you so choose, I’ve also kept flowers on the shrine in the past… it’s a nice way to keep them in mind and in your heart.

I’m sorry you’re grieving and feeling this loss, I know it must hurt a lot, but while we can’t undo the passing of a loved one, we can still honor them, be they human or animal.

Senebty,
Taswau

This right here is profound.

That was so beautifully said, Ra'awy.

I have the ashes of my two shelties in my shrine room, though I may bring them out so I sit with them more. I will always have a little shrine-like place for them because I have loved them and they have helped me so very much.
