I was browsing this page for ideas for a local group I'm involved with. Thought I'd share it here too!

Hi Koni,

Maybe she will want to be called by the name, "Sekhmet-Nut" but there is no reason why what you're getting couldn't just be Sekhmet. She IS that big.

Sekhmet connects herself with Sopdet for me. Discernment is important, but one thing I've learned is not to rely entirely on book learnin' and let my puny human mind box her in. I'm in no position to tell her, "you can't do that". ;)

Some recent Shrine photos:

I didn't have the cloths in them yet when I took these photos. I do now. Other than that, they're the same. :)

If it says "Guest", "Remetj", or "Divined Remetj" it means the person figured one out for themselves.

You may also see a guest , remetj, or divined remetj (such as myself) who was a Shemsu (-ankh, etc) at one time, but chose to change status and retain the Shemsu name.

I think that acknowledging a person's identification with the Uncreated is just playing into their cartoonish fantasies about themselves. It's not like the 'devil'.

I would never acknowledge that from someone who claimed it, except in the highly unlikely event that they were so awful I felt they should be destroyed - because that is what happens to the Uncreated, every day. I can't think of anyone I would wish that on.

The only thing that freaks me out about this is the wayward dog.

Regarding his fascination with the Uncreated - In my experience, the best way to deal with these folks (should you care to) is to hint it to them that the Netjeru are actually totally badass too, and PS: some are snakes - MAGIC snakes!

He could be tuned into some energy along the lines of Wajdyt and just has the wrong snake. ;)

So glad to hear it. :)

Em Hotep,

If Bast Is Speaking To Me Could This Be My Sole Parent?

If you mean "parent" in the Kemetic Orthodox, RPD sense, then there is only one way to find out.

That is just one of many ways to communicate or understand a relationship with Netjer. I think she's whatever she says she is! :)

In my experience, cats love nothing more than to convert "not cat people".

Keep the rats where he can't access them until you know for sure whether he will try to get into their cage.

You'll be fiiiiine. ;)

Would anyone else like to share their experiences of Nut?

I think keeping the Akhu happy definitely helps in keeping her happy. As for offerings, I find that She accepts a lot of the same things as Hethert and Aset. She seems to approve of myrrh and fragrances of white or night blooming flowers. I personally cannot keep a shrine for her that doesn't include a jar.

I think being involved in   stuff like this is a neat way to remember her, although I admittedly get no read from her as to whether she is especially interested in such matters...

With regard to experiences, she definitely expresses a fondness for music to me too. She has been very present in my dreams over the past year. I find that in addition to making her own appearances, she responds favorably to loving requests for such visits. :)
