Dua Nut!!

Thanks for the compliments, I have a feeling there will be a new Nut painting sometime this year.

Wesirempet, your illustrations are beautiful.  :)

Thank you! ^^ I'm not the best artist but I do really enjoy it! And I really love seeing other people's artwork of Her so whenever you do, please do share!

So excited to hear that Nut is the Goddess of the year! Makes me so hopeful for what is ahead!

I know this is a humble piece of art, but this is my attempt :) http://asetnuit.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=72#/d35kbb1

Nut painting I did several years ago- it always hangs in my shrine area.

Sorry this is SO late! But that painting you did of Nut is amazing!!

Thanks for everyone's replies to this thread. It is so wonderful to read the love directed towards Her, as She certainly pours Her love over all of us!

I made this website with information about her on it:   http://thetempleofnut.moonfruit.com/

We also have a devotional group dedicated to Her online, in which you can join if you read the FAQ on the website.
If anyone has anymore information to add about Her it is most welcome. We plan to make a devotional book to Her aswell :)

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: Multi-Faith and Multi-Practice
« on: July 07, 2012, 05:29:59 am »
I am a very eclectic spiritual person and in my belief, I feel like they all fit together without contradiction.

I have Wiccan practices blended in with Egyptian - these are the practices I do, but I also involve cultures and beliefs from Indian, Greek, Welsh and abrahamic roots.

I keep my KO shrine separate from my Wiccan one now and so in practice I will have Senut and honour my line-up, then on a moon or sabbat I'll have a Wiccan circle.

Works well for me :)

We use James P Allen's 'Middle Egyptian grammar' and I have found it an valuable resource.

j.nD Hr=k  !

I use Middle Egyptian by James P Allen in my degree course. I am new to studying language so I find it a little detailed and confusing at times, but other than that it is very good and the lecturers advise that it is the best out there for the study of Egyptian Grammar. (as a nice bonus it contains very informative essay's about Egyptian culture and beliefs)
For the heiroglyphs the collier-Manley one I read beside Allen's one (that also goes over it anyway)although it is VERY basic and you cannot learn the language using just that book.

Hope this helps!

Seems she has a talent for it :) And you are a beloved too!  x

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Naming

Today I'm joining some other Shemsu's in an online naming ceremony :)
I just wanted to know what the procedures were? How does Hemet choose your name? Does it always relate to your RPD Deities? Ay information is appreciated :)

When I go to bed if I feel a nightmare or fear coming on I leave a gap in my curtain and pray to Nut. I visualise her floating into the room, filling it with stars and wrapping me in a starry blanket rocking me to sleep. I fall asleep very quickly then, with no bad dreams :) She does the same when I am outside walking at night and need protection. So I think she can help with any prayers at night time. She is a Goddess of so many things! :) x

Awh that is lovely!! Makes me feel very warm inside to hear of others affections for her. Even though she is not officially my 'divine parent' she is very much my mother :)

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: WANT TO SEE YOUR SHRINE PICTURES

Hmm that is a nice idea :) I think it depends what I think when I see the statue. If I see it and think 'Isis!' I might struggle relating it to Nut. But then if I can paint one that would be lovely!

Thanks for all of those replies! I love speaking about her. To me her abstractness leaves me in awe, but she also reveals a more tangible side to her in her motherliness.

Helmsman, you have already directed me there ;) I'm waiting on a reply.

Thank you, TahekerutAset! I couldn't find any statues of her and didn't really expect to find any so I'd been using artwork of her. But I wanted to make this instead and it's been lovely!

I love this thread! They are all so beautiful!
I don't know if you can see this, but I made this candle holder for Nut:
