[PUBLIC] Welcome! / Re: New Applicant!

Thank you - still receiving welcomes almost 6 months later!

Anybody who has joined this forum and is considering Kemetic Orthodoxy, I tell you only this: you will not meet a nicer, more kind group of people. Having completed Beginner's classes a few weeks ago I can tell you that there is no doubt in my mind that I want to be a permanent part of this community.

Hotep Jacob,

I'm absolutely with you on this. Consider it done. I have spent much time studying the issue of the disappearance of the bees. I cannot even begin to imagine life without them. I wasn't aware that Neith had any association with bees other than the Temple of Bees in Saïs, so thank you for the enlightenment!

My family has made a successful effort to plant flowering bushes and the like to attract bees. It has worked wonders - last year we had no fewer than three colonies on our small property (1/3 acre). We avoid any chemical fertilizers and weed killers in our lawn. If more people did such, perhaps we could help reverse this plight.

As a plus, they did an AMAZING job with our fruit trees this year!

Senebty!

There is a great Senet game for iOS available in the app store. Nice taste of an ancient game! Here's the link to it - please note I am not the author and have nothing to do with the app!

I DID receive the response, and replied! So looking forward to the class!    :-)

As an important aside, I think that HUGE thanks goes out to Heruakhetymose for all of the work he's putting in to make sure nobody is left behind. Also big thanks to Hemet who is trooping through these applications despite the fact that she's readying for PantheaCon. And my own private thanks to Rev. Sedjemes for being so helpful to me personally!

If such selfless acts of help are any indicator of the kind of person within the Kemetic Orthodoxy, then we students are indeed in for an amazing ride. Appreciate all of you!

Thanks for the recommend everyone. Senebty!

Em Hotep!

I learned from Hemet that mine had not gone through back in December, although I had received the automatic confirmation. She suggested I email it directly. I did so yesterday so I sure hope it got through!

Ah, to feel this call so strongly - this is certainly a learning experience!

Senebty everyone.   :-)

Thank you Heruakhetymose!

It looks like things may be progressing - I noticed this evening that the kemet.org site now shows dates for the May class. I can't help but be excited in hoping that my application was accepted! Everything in due time. I'm so looking forward to potentially getting started on this path.

Em Hotep!

I have a copy of Budge's translation of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, but have heard from many that this is a poor translation. Does anyone have a recommendation of a better translation?

Senebty!

Em Hotep!

Just checking in and hoping that Hemet is recovering from her recent loss. So difficult, and on top of a recent move. May She be built up in strength.

For we who have applied to the January 2014 Beginners Class, is there any update on timing?

Senebty!
