this is a good book to check out: Stephen Quirke. The Cult of Ra: Sun-Worship in Ancient Egypt

I know this is an old post but I was wondering if this book has information on Ra-Heruakhety? I am looking for more sources about him. Thanks!

Absolutely stunning! Dua Ra!

Bast 100% is my doting mother. She has always been there for me, even as a child. So much so during my RPD she was insistent on claiming me as her child! I have also always felt a "Grandfather" type relationship with Ra.

This is an interesting question and I'd love to understand the mechanics behind it. I myself only have 3 in my RPD lineup: Bast as my parent and my two Beloveds Ra-Heruakhety and Nit-Nebthet-Seshat. All I know about the RPD is what was explained during it about how it uses cowrie shells and patterns that were set forth by the Gods.

I cleaned up and rearranged my altar after the Festival of Bast yesterday. It felt good to fix it up all nice in Her honor!

I'm also a spoonie who suffers from executive dysfunction and OCD. I have found that doing the little things to take care of myself are valid ways of honoring Netjer. I also pray and think of them when I'm feeling too tired to do much else. Reading and researching about Netjer is also a devotional act. I often feel too tired to do much else than lay in bed and watch Netflix or read. Taking care of yourself is important and Netjer understands that. Don't feel guilty or bad or that you are not a good enough devotee. As you can see, there are quite a few of us who go through similar things as you :) So you are not alone!

[PUBLIC] Welcome! / Re: Sons and Daughters of Bast

Resurrecting an old post, but as of yesterday I was divined a son of Bast. I've always felt her presence so I was not surprised at all. I too think I get the Devourer Form of Bast. She is fierce and predatory but also extremely loving and motherly to her children. I always get the feeling she will rip out hearts of those who threaten her children. She still comes across to me as a black and sleek domestic cat, but one that is outdoors and a bit more feral.

As for offerings I've noticed she really likes cinnamon. She also enjoys chocolate, coffee, jewelry, perfume and make up. I have also offered singing and dancing to her as well.

As far as personalities of children of Bast, for me I am also very cat-like. I enjoy getting affection but I can be a bit untrusting. I have a small social group as opposed to a huge one. I love to sleep. I like fine things and food. I am friendly unless I feel threatened and the claws come out so-to-speak.

Yep! I have mine in about 30 minutes! Nekhtet! I've waited a long time for this so I'm really excited :)

Does anyone know where Nit's association with spiders come from? Is this just speculation/personal interpretations or is this founded in historical fact or references? Thanks! Senebty

^ This. I see Jesus as an Ascended Master (I'm Theosophical on top of being Kemetic). A lot of his teachings were skewed or ignored by the overall Christian Church. I don't think there is anything wrong with looking up to Jesus as a Teacher, Master, or Guru type figure. He was a man who taught love and respect and compassion.

Nekhtet! Welcome :)
