Thank you for sharing this!! This is mighty interesting, especially to me, as I am also a Heathen as well. Glad to see more Heathen and Kemetics out there!

Em Hotep! I'm a rather newly divined Shemsu, so I thought I'd throw my experience into the ring.

My lineup made complete sense to me. Yinepu is the God that even led me on the path to Kemetism, a God that I became interested in as a small child learning about Egypt in schools. I grew a relationship with Him for years outside of becoming 'officially' part of the temple, and so I was not surprised at all to see Him turn up in my RPD as my Father.

Sekhmet surprised me, but in the months following up to my RPD, I had heard Her influence more and more inside my mind when I went to shrine and meditated. She had a strong, domineering, powerful, and yet, motherly presence that calmed me. I don't have a good relationship with my birth mother, so I really loved the feeling Sekhmet gave me when She visited me.

I see her more as my Mother than my Beloved, to be honest; since I only have a divined Father, She just fits into the Mother role for me. But yes, the results of my RPD were 100% what I was expecting and I was very happy to hear them and grow my relationship even deeper with my Gods.

Side note: My life is also a mess right now and my mental state is chaos, and the akhu divination was actually quite comforting to me.

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: WANT TO SEE YOUR SHRINE PICTURES
« on: February 06, 2016, 02:17:31 pm »
Since the RPD, I now have my shrine updated to include Yinepu and Sekhmet! :D I'm also in talks with Peter Chiappori, of ChiapporiArts, to get a custom casted Wepwawet amulet and a devotional papyrus scroll for Yinepu.

I love my shrine, I think it looks great right now. I don't have a ton of space so I had to use a small folding table, I plan to get a custom cabinet in the future when I have more room.

Here it is!

And finally, a closer look at the small Yinepu behind the candle centerpiece. He was hand-carved from artists in Kemet and I got Him as a gift. I love it!

In case you were wondering what the other things were, there is a laying Yinepu, in his paws is a Cartouche necklace that says "SatAnpu" in hieroglyphics phonetically, incense holder, behind it is an enamel pin of Yinepu, in the back is a shot glass with Yinepu carved into it, my sake libation set, and the silver dish holds Kosher salt for purification. The bottom right is two cards from the Egyptian Tarot Deck, Death and The Moon which feature art of Yinepu and Wepwawet. I bought a new dry offering bowl so I'm waiting for that to arrive, it's going to the left of the candle holder.  :)

Oh also, in the back there it's a real black-backed Jackal skull (I'm a taxidermy collector), in devotion to Yinepu's role as a guardian of the dead and preserver. I know usually animal parts are a no-no, but I tried it out when I was a beginner and now He requested that I have it in shrine, so I decided to keep it.

Dua Netjer!

Em Hotep everyone, I just wanted to announce that I am set up for my RPD tomorrow afternoon at 4 pm PST, 7 pm EST and I am so excited I probably won't sleep tonight! :D

I'm so happy to finally be getting it, this is something I've wanted and thought about for a long time, ever since I first even found out what Kemetism and the worship of the Netjer even was.

I have a feeling of a few Names that I think might show in my lineup, but either way, I'm excited to meet my Parents and Beloveds and form a deeper relationship with them and deepen my faith. :)

Will post back here once I find out my line up! So Giddy!

Chiefly Yinepu, 100%. He has been a deep interest of mine ever since I was very young and just starting to learn about ancient Egypt in school. I never let Him leave my mind as I grew older, and He is the one who led me on the path of KO. I'm forever grateful for that. :)

Recently, I'm also taking notice of Sekhmet, Sobek, and Set as well. I feel as if I've had each of Them approach me in shrine during different points of my practice and I'd love to get to know each of Them more, especially Sekhmet.

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Advice on Approaching Serqet?
« on: January 15, 2016, 01:02:59 am »
Hotep everyone- as some of you might know from older posts I've made, I struggle very very much with major depression, suicidal inclination, low self-esteem, and other mental illnesses. I see a therapist and I'm on medication, but sometimes, it just doesn't seem to help me to feel any better at all. :(

I was wondering if approaching Serqet would be beneficial to help me to heal in time. There are some wounds I just feel like I can't heal by myself. Would She be able to help me in such a way do you think?

If so, how would I approach Her in a respectful way and show my intention (asking for Her help in emotional healing)? I've actually never approached a Name of Netjer before... all my experiences with Them has been from Them approaching me first, so I'm a little bit intimidated! Anyone who has worked with Her that can offer me advice would be most appreciated.

Thank you so much. I'm looking for any help I can get.

Senebty.

What a beautiful place to live, i'm jealous! ;) You're great at taking photos, Ra must be proud. Also, using sunglasses as a filter is a GENIUS idea.
