Em hotep!

Just wanted to point folks toward Arab Academy. I've been taking Arabic lessons online through this program based in Cairo and I can't recommend them enough.

I feel this is especially important for those who want to visit or excavate in Egypt.

I've come to terms with my Beloved Amun-Ra's ineffability and at this point I just do my best not to stare into the void.

A minor correction on the name of Heruakhety:  While it looks like a dual ending, it likely grammatically is a nisba, meaning "who is from the horizon".  Basically, when a nisba is written as a dual, it refers to origin.

Em hotep and welcome!

Bes would be a bouncer.

In this context, I don't see breaking the hippo's legs making sense at all.

There's really no sense in trying to figure out what these tourist figurines are supposed to be.  Decide what they mean for you.

Zeredi, I would argue that your post was more provocative than mine, as your attempted to hide an ad hominem attack in fancy words.  That's not a particularly good trick.

I don't think this is how the gods work.

Yo fam, can we not keep sharing that white supremacist article about how the ancient Egyptians are actually Armenian?

It was an intentional sampling error from a known Asiatic settlement.  It's like intentionally pulling DNA from the Chinese remains found in a British Roman cemetery to prove that the ancient Britons were actually from East Asia.  It's disingenuous and absurd.

I've seen several people share this and I think you all know better.

I love it!

Look up Katja Goebs' work if you're interested in reading in-depth about crowns!
