May Ma'at prevail!

Em hotep!

I'm loving this! So many fascinating points. It's interesting to me to try to access those parts of the divinity that is the more negative or shadow side. In my line up, Aset has her seven scorpions that she has power over. From the story, I wouldn't want to get on her bad side! She also is not afraid of tricking and poisoning her own father, Ra for his sacred knowledge. The Serqet side of Aset seems even more into the darker mysteries, that I'm still learning about. She reminds me of the old adage "what can cure can kill".

My first beloved Ra, is very positive because the sun is so often seen as one of the most positive things in the universe- we have life because of Him! We need the sun to grow plants and live on our planet. However, he does send Sekhmet to end the world because he gets tired of humanity. I think he feels bad for this, now-- or at least my version of Ra looks back upon his past actions and feels guilt. Our gods are not perfect, they are powerful beings trying to maintain order in a world of chaotic circumstance.

If you look at any of our Names, you will find a less than favorable story about them or an epithet that may be unsavory, even vicious. Yet, we have so many positive and beautiful aspects to them I don't know of anyone who is really that bothered by their negative sides. It seems only natural I think...

However, there is the whole most Set kids are scared of Aset and vice versa stigma within the HON. I admit, I was scared of Set for a while, but we've come to a place of peace now and I've now seen a lovable side of Him.

I love looking at the dichotomy of a deity, I feel like I could write on this subject for ages but I'll stop here for now.

Updating the narrative, I think that at Pagan Farmer Ra’s poker game he occasionally invites Heru Wer and Hethert over too, Hethert  I imagine owns a bakery/pastry shop much like one in my neighborhood called “Let them eat cake!” And She always brings goodies for the guys to eat which everyone loves but Heru Wer shows up in his brand new red corvette and throws 100 bills around when they were playing poker with 5 dollar bills and 1’s always saying he “never carries change.” Which everyone is annoyed at, so they don’t get invited too often. LOL!

Em hotep all, I love this thread!

For my line up:

Aset-Serqet to me feels like a stay at home mom who volunteers for everything, she does some hours at the poison center, she does hours at the senior and hospice center and at the food kitchen. Her priorities to me are her son and her people/community.
Love language: Quality Time (Totally agree there, she did NOT get enough time with Wesir)

Ra would be the most happy go lucky farmer you've ever met, he's got all sorts of produce that he brings to the farmer's market to sell and fresh honey from his own hive. He makes jams and cans beans. He flies his own biplane outside of his farm for fun and has a poker night with the boys.
Love language: Physical Touch (because the sun's rays touch everything)

Djehuty to me, would be A LOT like Gezausenu's Djehuty professor OR he is a library technician kinda guy, with gloves handling the oldest texts we have, gingerly, like they are his own children. He translates texts and scans them for copies. His hands are steady and his mind is sharp, finesse and grace are in his wrists. Maybe some of the texts he's made a copy on his own flash drive for some personal light reading. He takes work home all the time and drinks a tea and goes to town.
Love language: Words of affirmation

Wadjet would either be in the army OR a secret service member--protecting her King. She's such a warrior that it's hard to imagine her doing anything else for me... I almost said army doctor but it could only be in the combat sense in an active battle field, rushing to the wounded. She's strong and would never leave anyone behind. She's incredibly loyal and loving of her family, King and her people.
Love language: Acts of Service

This has been super fun.

[PUBLIC] FAQ: RPD (Rite of Parent Divination) / Re: RPD Scheduled

Nekhtet Jack!

Em hotep Anaputuwet,

I had the same jitters about one of my Beloveds, Wadjet-- I had a close relationship with her for the entire time I was in the House before RPD and was worried she would not show up because she isn't as popular as some of the Big Names. The night before RPD, I prayed to her and told her to let me know and I got an overwhelming sense of "I'm here, stop worrying." The next day I was thrilled when She was my third Beloved in my line up.

Just another story to help put your mind at ease, the Names do not want us to eat our hearts when it comes to who is there because it's not like you cannot have relationships with Names outside of your line up... and sometimes you find out that a Name you have a relationship outside of your line up is connected to one in your line up because of the various multitude of syncretic gods!

I hope you enjoy the beginner's class!

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: What time do you do Senut?
« on: June 28, 2018, 01:04:53 am »
Em hotep all!

I try to do senut every Sunday around dusk (6-8 pm depending on season.) It's a nice way to end my week and start another. Sometimes I get a few during the week in, but I try not to pressure myself as I feel it's bad to for my mental state--so my goal is only once a week and that's been working pretty well for me.

Em hotep Gleb,

Kephri was very present in my time as a beginner, I still hold him in high regard even though he isn't in my line up... He reminds us that every day is Zep Tepi and there's something so uplifting in that! I'm not a morning person but Kephri definitely makes me love the mornings for that reason. In my experience he's kind and wise, persistent and a good listener. I always feel that he's been a positive influence in my life, he brought me closer to other Netjeru that are in my line up (Ra for example). When I envision him, he's always in full scarab form, shiny metallic green and blue and sometimes he is dancing with joy.

This is all UPG, but that's how I feel about him. I hope you can also feel his joy to uplift you.

This is going to be so amazing. I want to go when it's complete!

Em hotep all,

It's funny how after RPD all of my feelings that Aset and Wadjet just go together were because of my line up!
So much of my own personal feelings and opinions on Them have been confirmed in his way... It's pretty amazing to look back and see some of the journey.

I am loving this conversation about Nut so I'm continuing it....
I often make lists of Netjeru/t I feel connections with at the time and one list I have I write Nut twice! Once at the bottom of the list and once at the top. During that time I felt her presence a lot. I don't hear her often, but feel her vast loving presence, yes. She's complex and powerful. There's something really lovely about her silent power....
