[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / All the Heru's
« on: November 17, 2017, 01:08:28 pm »
Lately, since the beginning of the Beginner's class, I've felt pretty drawn to Heru. The past day or two, I've been reading a lot about him, and all his different forms and aspects. There seem to just be quite a lot of them, and it's a lot to sort through. The most common seem to be Heru-sa-Aset, Heru, and Heru-wer.

I've been using my tarot cards to see if he's perhaps reaching out to me, and I think he might be, but the thing is, which one could it be? How can you tell? Also, if anyone could point me to reading material, I'd be really thankful!

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Acts of Service?
« on: October 28, 2017, 09:12:12 pm »
Lately, I've felt the need to have some kind of act of service for Yinepu and the other Netjeru, but I'm not really sure what the best thing to do as an act of service might be!

I have limited mobility, and am currently mostly housebound until I finish schooling (I'm also not able to do a lot of volunteer work due to disabilities and transportation issues.)

Sometimes, I offer up tarot readings as a way to service and provide comfort to others, and I do this in the service of Yinepu, as well as taking care of several pets and plants. Even so, I feel a pull lately, like I'm meant to be doing more, but I'm not sure what. At times, I dedicate my studies, or small things like cleaning my house as an act towards him but lately, I can't help but feel like I'm supposed to be doing something else.

I'm not sure if this makes much sense, lately I kind of feel like I don't have as much a connection to Yinepu, and I can only assume it's because now after the newness of the connection has died down, it's sort of faded into a more day to day thing.

Anyone else have experiences like this, or perhaps want to share acts of service that they perform?

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Beginner's Class
« on: October 14, 2017, 10:55:03 pm »
Hooray!

The beginner's class will start soon! I'm really excited about it, and I can't wait to learn more about KO, and hopefully have a new platform to get closer to the Gods. Yinepu is still very active for me, though I've had to limit my daily rituals down to once a day rather than twice.

I was just curious if anyone might also be joining me for the beginner's class soon? Or if anyone who had already taken the beginner's class had some advice or stories to offer? I really enjoy reading things here, and learning other's perspectives!

[PUBLIC] Prayer Requests / Prayers for my rat
« on: September 12, 2017, 01:13:22 am »
Hello all, sorry about the surplus of posts lately! I know I'm not a member yet, but I've found a lot of comfort in this community as of late, so I hope you'll forgive me for so much posting.

Today, I lost one of my pets, a rat I've had for almost three years, Sammy. I've lost rats before but this one is really getting to me, and I'd appreciate any prayers on her behalf.

Thank you so much!

May anyone in the path of this hurricane or future ones make it out safe and sound! It's certainly a really rough season this year!

Hi, Gezausenu! I just wanted to stop in and tell you that your art is very lovely, and I think you're doing such a wonderful, kind thing! :)

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Identifying a new Netjer?
« on: September 01, 2017, 01:41:55 am »
Hello all!

Since I'm not yet a Remetj member until I take classes, I was wondering if anyone had any advice about identifying other Netjeru who might come forth?

Recently, I think I might be having some contact with Hethert, but I'm not entirely sure! I recently got the Ancient Egyptian Prayerbook, and I said one of the prayers in offering to her one night due to some difficulties I was having. I think I felt her presence in my life, but she doesn't seem as forthcoming as Yinepu is in my life.

Does this ever happen? I'm sure it does, I've just been fairly content to work with Yinepu and I was a bit surprised that she might show up. Does anyone else have experience in regards to this?

Thank you everyone for your continued prayers. None of us expected for it to be as bad as it's been.

Please keep us in your thoughts!

Lately I like to do tarot readings in offer to Yinepu for others! A lot of times tarot is considered the poor man's therapist, and a reading can really help put someone's mind at ease and help people feel like they're being heard!

I also have a lot of unusual pets and I consider my care for them also an act of service as well. :)

Woof. I never would have thought about Texas getting hit with a hurricane, of all places! Many, many prayers for everyone who's preparing for its arrival and might be affected when it hits.

Papa Set, there was a myth about You subduing some rebellious Sea-God once--do that again, please: flick this nasty storm back out to sea where it can't cause any harm.

Senebty,
Gezausenu.

Thank you so much! Your prayers are so appreciated! That's really interesting about Set's myth! I'll have to look that one up myself! Especially during all this!

Surprisingly Texas gets hit by tropical storms and hurricanes fairly often, though this is the first big one in quite some time!

Hello all!

I hope it's okay to post this, but part of the Texas area is about to be hit by a massive hurricane, and people are really worried about the effects that it might cause.

Prayers for people are greatly appreciated!

Thanks everyone for your input on this! Reading your replies and kind responses makes me definitely feel like I'm on the right path at present in being here.

I actually spoke to Yinepu about it last night, and he pretty much told me that things happen in their own time, and to be patient and trusting, and trusting right now is my biggest exercise with him. I get the sense that if I were to get an RPD reading, He would probably be there, but I get the idea that it's just not time yet, and well, he's right. I've not even taken the beginner's class yet, so I need to just learn what I can and get comfortable with it.

I'm definitely very attached to Yinepu, but I'm also trying to be open to other things. I've been practicing Senut the past week as well, and just trying to get into the swing of things.

I'm not sure what I'll do for the Akhu yet, but I feel better knowing that I don't necessarily have to honor anyone I can name. I might meditate on it later, and see if I can glean any insights from it that way.

If it's okay for me to ask, what is the difference between parents and beloveds? From what I can gather, it seems like parents are well, parents, and beloveds are like friends, or gods who have just taken an interest in a particular person?

Hello everyone!

I hope it’s okay that I’ve been here so much as of late, I’m just trying to learn as much as I possibly can, and truly there’s so much information to be gleaned from this place. The questions I mainly have are about the RPD and the Akhu veneration, that seems to be a staple of the Kemetic Orthodoxy faith!

So, the first question I have is about the RPD, from my understanding, it seems that it’s a divination practiced by the Nisut, to divine one’s godly parents, and or deities that wish to be acknowledged first and foremost by the practitioner. I understand that this is not mandatory, nor is it something one has to do. However, what do you do when you already have a strong connection with a deity? What if they don’t show up? If anyone has read my other post, I guess it’s a little obvious that I feel a strong connection to Yinepu, and he’s expressed desires to help me with issues. I know I wouldn’t lose that connection even if I did have the RPD and he was nowhere to be found, and I know that I’m pretty far away from doing that at this time, but I guess it just makes me kind of nervous to think that he wouldn’t show up. How did you guys cope with that?

My second question is in regards to honoring the Akhu. To be frank, I really don’t have the best relationship with my immediate family, and I don’t know much about them beyond my grandparents. There’s not really anyone I can ask, due to the fact that I don’t really talk with my immediate family due to abuse reasons.
I actually tried talking to my ancestors a while back, and while I get the sense that they might be around for support, I also get the feeling they don’t want to be bothered. I have super mixed feelings regarding my ancestors in general.

I would really like to give the House a good, honest try, but these two things make me the most anxious, and they seem to be major parts of the faith.
