Em hotep!

Totally echoing Rev. Ma'atnofret and Naruwy - Nefertem has been nothing but loving towards me, He's great!

I first 'met' Him as I was preparing for Senut. He requested I light a candle for Him and we sat together, and we have ever since. This was also around the time I learned about the ritual purity required for incense, so I bought some Lotus Morning Star and developed quite a love for it. Since then He has brought quite a windfall of incense into my life, and requested that I sit with Him to really try and tell the scent notes apart - a sort of meditation, I suppose? Sitting together and 'being present in the moment' is a big thing for us.
I also feel close to Him when focusing on putting myself first and doing all the little 'self care' bits and pieces. I feel great afterwards, renewed confidence, and His pride in me!

I very much get his 'healer' side. He is stillness and softness, kind and wise, the reeds gently swaying in the breeze, a warm embrace. Though He is firm when needs be - He is the Son of Sekhmet, after all! I like to offer Him pastel-coloured candles, incense of all kinds (and a little time to fully appreciate their scent), and fresh flowers. I have a small selection of room sprays that are His, a fruity perfume I wear on special occasions and a blood-orange solid perfume I wear more often. All my self-care is devoted to Him. I gather that floral teas are popular for Him, but all the fancy green and floral teas in my home are poured for Djehuty!

I hope this helps, I'm always down to chat about my Beautiful Father  ;D

Em hotep Cait!

I hope you enjoy the beginner's course!
I came to the House for similar reasons - I was a solitary witch (still am, in a way) brought here by Sekhmet to find a community, and a family. I definitely found that here, may you also find what you seek!

Em hotep!

I've been wondering if there is a particular incense that you've noticed your Names like, or dislike, or one you tend to associate with Them?

I've looked through the Offerings page on kemet.org, and there are lots of names that don't have a particular scent listed. I know that historically scents like frankincense, myrrh, kyphi, or lotus flowers were commonly offered (and so could be offered to all names?), and we as a community tend to stick to Japanese incense because it is made to similar purity requirements (ie, no animal waste products).

I'm still learning the ins and outs of what my Names like, but 'listening' to and learning about incense in general is an activity I devote to my Father, Nefertem. I associate Morning Star Lotus with him (as it was my first Japanese incense, which He requested), but also other florals like Cherry and Plum Blossom, Sandalwood (which I tend to think of as the 'bread and water' of incense), or Aloeswood (as a complex scent that requires your attention). I've also found an Indian-style incense brand which is very transparent in its ingredients, so I informally burn them for Him too.
I also hold Morning Star Sandalwood and Vanilla close to my heart - they were used for my RPD!

Em Hotep Zuzana!

Amun doesn't have a birthday listed, but there are lots of festivals in His honour. I started writing them out but Amun is a Name where there are so many it would have taken me a long time! There are 5 'Birthday of Amun's Priesthood's, but they have all just passed, they were between Jan 21-26th.

You don't need a 'special day' to celebrate Amun, an offering and a prayer would be appreciated on any day.

This is an interesting question, one that I've found myself thinking as we've received some beautiful pictures from Perseverance of Mars!

I think it might be a mixture of evolving our thoughts on the Netjeru's field of influence (maybe causing some lesser known Names to become more 'noticed'), and learning about the Ones we know as tied to Earth in the context of new regional iru. I think the most primordial names will be ever present through space as we know them already - creators like Amun and Ptah, the vast waters of Nun, won't change much as you sail through space because it's already Something they've had a part in.

I can imagine Ra would encompass all suns, and could be a Name to pray to for a safe journey in Space Travel (as a Name that travels on his Solar Barque each day). Each planet would have a different iru of Nut as she is the Sky and Atmosphere, but also the same Nut as Earth as she is also all the Stars. Celebrations could be held in Tefnut's Name as the Lady of Moisture when water is found on another planet. I hope I've made some form of sense here.

But all of this is a very Earth-centric perspective (what a strange thing to type!). I do believe that our religions will be able to travel through space with the first explorers, but it would very difficult to relate to and believe in if you grew up light years away from Earth. Maybe a new planet-specific version of paganism will pop up, removed from everything we have here. I'd love to know.
