I love the myths where humanity’s creation from the Creator deity’s tears is emphasized. The Creator brings the gods into existence through the Creator’s sweat, through physical exertion, but humanity is created through extreme emotion. The dichotomy there is beautiful to me.

Hello MauMau981!
Ptah is a deity I love very much, and I have had moments where I felt a connection to Ptah-Sokar-Wesir. To me, it was like a single deity made up of flickering images/persons of each of Them—it’s hard to explain haha. He felt deep and peaceful.
Since starting the beginner class and graduating to Remetj, I have come across many deities I wasn’t quite actively pursuing but for whatever reason, I kept finding myself thinking of Them. These include: Bes, Montu, and Raet. I did not have any interest in Them, nor did I even know about Them, before having contact with KO. Now, as a Remetj, I give more thought and prayer time to Raet out of any other deity.

That’s a very cool image!
Iirc, the bird which the Greeks called the phoenix was what the ancient Egyptians called the bennu bird. It is a great heron.
Regardless, peacocks are identified with royalty. And this image is fascinating alone even if it’s without historical basis. I’m glad you shared it.

I have a left Eye of Horus ring I wear on my left middle finger most days. It was gifted to me over ten years ago before I was a polytheist.
I can’t help but kiss it when putting it on and taking it off. <3

Em hotep!
I believe this may be “the” Ra I’ve recently dialed into as well. It’s been a couple days since you posted this—have you gone ahead and taken the dive into approaching Him? I’ve very little personal experience to share, unfortunately. What I can share is that He feels very... remote/distant.

Em hotep!
I’ve been browsing through archived AtN threads, and I saw mention of a History channel documentary which the Nisut was interviewed for. Is this video uploaded somewhere? Does someone have a YouTube link maybe? I’d like to watch it.
Thank you! Senebty, Ewe

Thank you, Rev Raheri. I’ve very much been enjoying your commentary on the purifications. May I use your Akhu prayer in my own Akhu prayers?

For me, having Their Name pop into my head or the desire to speak said Name aloud is enough for me to feel sure on what (or Who) I’m experiencing. I don’t so much look to worldly associations unless something is happening repeatedly or feels significantly related to other spiritual experiences. As far as discernment, I think it’s something that just takes time <3

For those who have had a chance to perform their first Senut, I’d love to hear about your experience as far as you’re comfortable sharing. I performed Senut for the first time this last Friday—I was both nervous and excited. Making the natron and going through that purification process actually made me feel ready for ritual. Really though, it’s hard for me to describe how I actually felt after the bath other than “different” and “lighter.” With the actual ritual, I felt clumsy and awkward, but I felt that way the first few times I did ritual as a practicing polytheist too. I wasn’t sure what to say once I got to the personal time part, so I ended up spending maybe 5-10 minutes there. I’d either blabber on (that’s just how it felt haha) for a few minutes, or I’d sit quietly and just try to focus on Netjer. Reverting the offering, eating it during that time I think, was the most memorable part of Senut besides how the natron bath made me feel. That almost felt like I was sitting at Their table in a way. So that was my first Senut. I won’t be able to perform Senut again for about a week, but I’d like to try adding in a moment for the Akhu next time

“Godphones” are absolutely going to idiosyncratic, and I think something you work on at an individual level with Netjer. You’ll communicate with Netjer in the way that works best with you, in my experience. Some people have these emotional feelings, others take special notice of things happening with birds/wildlife around them, others feel something when listening to a specific song and have a moment where they feel they’re noticing this song because of a message from Netjer, others feel it when something sticks out to them in conversation with another person, some experience this “godphone” in dreams. Some only communicate well through divination methods.
In any case, it’s going to be personal and something you learn to take notice of. <3
