[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Personal Question
« on: November 21, 2011, 08:19:17 am »
It's been a fairly long time since I've been on here, and out of the blue I decided to come on here and look for a little advice. In truth I left after I took the beginners class to think through everything and as much as I thought I had come to the conclusion that I was an atheist, deep down there's something that keeps tuging me back here and I'm not sure exactly what to do. On one hand I've had trouble accepting something without definative proof, but at the same time it feels like I keep being tugged back... so ultimately I'm here to ask for advice on what might be the best way to resolve this.

Hey, don't worry. I've gone through the beginners class and I am still having doubts as to whether or not I truely belong here and if I should go thorugh the RPD. (Of course, the same thing could be said about my life as a whole.) From my own experiences, I think some level of doubt is acceptable and even healthy. I'd be worried if there were people who weren't, as blind loyalty can be a harmful thing once it gets out of control.

It takes time to figure out where you belong, especially on a spiritual level so you should expect to have some doubts. But it's good to express them, it lets others help you come to terms with them.

So there is a telephone option, well that's a relief. My schedule rarely give me much time for internet access and was a little worried on no being able to participate.

I have a small ankh that I wear on a chain around my neck.

That's quite a powerful message, Raheri. I would say that would be the purification that I fail at the most. I've found that no matter the circumstances, I can never say that I love myself. I have a hard time accepting who I am, there's always someone telling me in my head that I should be better than what I am or that I'm just a complete failure. It's a hurdle that sometimes, I don't think I'll ever actually get over.

I use to dream of Yniepu often, though it happens rarely know, mainly since I can't really do much until I have my own place.

I enjoy the music of the season. I do love my Christmas songs, but have been know to change them up a bit to de-christianize them and make them fun and Kemetic themed.

Example of "Away in a Manger"

"Away in the Marshlands no crib for a bed,
the little Lord Heru lays down his sweet head"

...and that sort of thing. I am the master of plagerism (which isn't necessarily good but works out in this case)!

Senebty,

LOL that's actually pretty good. :D

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Christmas?

Something I've always wondered, and since it's not too far off, was wether or not you members celebrate Christmas or just pass on it?

Very interesting topic here since I harbor the same skepticism to claims like that as well. I am more than accepting of her as a religious teacher, but the thought of being divinely chosen still doesn't sit to right in my mind. Especially since I have been led down the wrong path in the past (back when I was mentally unstable).

At one time I use to wear an ankh necklace. Of course, when I was esentially forbidden to have any religious objects not of Christianity by my family, it was tossed.

I don't have any, but I would like a traditional depiction of Yinepu done on my back at some point and though not Kemetic, also one of a red fox.

Here's my shrine.  I use the top shelf of a square bookshelf to house the shrine to Yinepu, Djehuti, and Set, and on the shelf below it I place my offerings.

Might I just ask, Lucario?

I have to agree, your shrine lookes great. I really like that table-chest thing you have there.

Thank you. It is from Design Toscano (at least thats where it was ordered from) don't know who makes it.

Must have been expensive.

Yes those are magnificent, though very expensive.
