i saw this post and couldn't resist

"My" Heru-Wer leans more towards celestial aspects. Mostly, though, He's a protector and denizen of the skies. He's very much a mentor figure to me.

I do get a more... "nature-y" Heru-Wer at times, usually when I'm out in the sticks or tending to my plants. In a weird way He's almost like Wesir; quiet, observant, and firmly cemented in the life-death-decay cycle - mostly on the "life" end. There's an epithet of His that sticks with me no matter which side of Him I get: "The plants grow green for His Ka". I can't remember where I saw it, but it stands out to me a lot since it's pretty different from most HW content I see out there.

For me HW always brings the promise of new life, in whatever form that may take. Watching plants grow or watching people grow, it's all growth.

[PUBLIC] Welcome! / How about a re-introduction?

Em hotep!

I first posted a year ago when I joined the 54th class. I completed the course but had to drop everything due to my mental health taking a nosedive. I'm doing much better now and am moving forward to become a temple member, but it's been a while. So I figured a re-introduction is in order.

I'm Rook, although last time I introduced myself it was as Noah. They/them or it/its pronouns please. I'm a multiple system; I'm pretty sure that won't come up much here though I'll gladly answer questions about it. I've loved ancient Egypt and its mythology for a very, very long time. As far as Names go, I'm very close with Heru-sa-Aset and consider Him a father figure. He's always been there, it seems. Set and Wepwawet-Yinepu are important to me as well, and it was actually Set who kicked my door down and brought me along for the ride :P

So! Yeah. Here's to getting up and trying again :)

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Question about parental consent
« on: September 23, 2018, 08:49:00 pm »
Em hotep!

(I don't know if this is the right forum to post this in; if it isn't please correct me.)
So. I'm planning on joining the next beginners class (October 20), and I have the consent of my legal guardian since I'm a minor. I have one concern though: where am I supposed to send the written consent? Do I attach it to my application form? Do I have my guardian send it in themselves? If so... where? Is an email fine, or does it have to be a scan of a written document?
Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I'm doing this all correctly.

Hello everyone! I'm glad I finally got the courage to post here.

You can call me Noah, or just Falcon. They/them.
I've felt drawn to ancient Egypt and the kemetic gods since I was a child. I think I've been practicing for about... three years now, give or take. I mainly worship Wesir, Ra-Heruakhety, and Anup, with occasional offerings to Sekhmet-Mut and Set. I also work a lot with the Sons of Horus, and I've been looking into a few lesser-known deities.

I'm considering joining the beginners class soon; this is still up in the air since I'm a minor but my parents are supportive, so I don't think it will be much of a problem. I'm very happy to be here and I look forward to getting to know everyone better!
