[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Naming
« on: August 31, 2011, 02:38:39 pm »
Today I'm joining some other Shemsu's in an online naming ceremony :)
I just wanted to know what the procedures were? How does Hemet choose your name? Does it always relate to your RPD Deities? Ay information is appreciated :)

Em Hotep!
I wanna know who else adores Nut as much as I do ^^ Do we have any sons, daughters and beloveds of Nut here? In my RPD Nut was divined a beloved of mine and she is  Goddess number One for me. I absolutely love her and she takes great care of me :)

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Coming to the House
« on: August 28, 2010, 11:03:33 am »
I didn't know where else to post this, but I definately wanted to just share this.

I really love the concepts and practices within Kemetic Orthodoxy and it fascinates me how it is possible to practice the faith of the people I have been studying all my life!
I have been worshipping the Egyptian pantheon for about a year now (before I knew of KO) in my own way and then I found the House. I wasn't sure if I wanted to join. Some ideas I wasn't sure upon and I was (and really still am) very comfortable in my current Tameran Wiccan path. I joined the beginners class so that I could learn more about it, and maybe incorporate some of the ideas.

I thought that as I am eclectic in nature I would try to include Senut rituals in with my practice as a way to have a daily devotion. Normally I wanted to do a daily devotion or contact Netjer but found casting circle to be too time consuming.  So Senut sounded great.

On Tuesday, the full moon, I did my first Senut rite and it has left me with this feeling that I have to join the house. It pushed me to buy the Ancient Egyptian Prayerbook and I can't explain the feeling.

I just wanted to share this with you all, so thanks to any one who reads this!

I hope this question is alright to ask here.

In this faith what is your view on other cultures Gods and Goddesses? Do you see them as true, just not part of your chosen pantheon? Do you see them as manifestations of you Gods? Or do they not exist?

If anyone believes in many different deities across the planet I would like to ask: If I was in England and watching the rain outside, would I be seeing Tefnut or would I be seeing the native rain Goddess?

Thank you,
