[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Very confused
« on: July 06, 2016, 09:20:41 pm »
Em hotep,

I received an email from the Nisut on June 20th offering me a spot in the Beginners Class. It says:

"At this time I am pleased to offer you a place in the class that is about to begin. If you would like to be enrolled in this class, please let me know by responding to this email NO LATER THAN MONDAY, JULY 27. If I hear from you, we will enroll you in the class, and you will receive materials from the class instructors after July 27 as the class begins."

And I was only able to respond by today instead of sooner, as I was incapacitated for some time. When is the class starting? Her email auto reply says one started yesterday (the 5th) and one will be in October. Is that why I hadto respond by the 27th? Can I not take the one that just started?

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Netjer as God?
« on: March 07, 2016, 10:15:22 am »
Hi folks,

I've always been of a monotheist, Abrahamic bent. I understand, and have no real issue with, the Names and Their role in Kemetic theology, but would it be silly of me to think of Netjer in the same way I think of the Abrahamic God? Like, not the exact same, but could I call Netjer God and pray to him and such and not be silly?

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Sin, sex, and the afterlife
« on: September 17, 2015, 12:43:48 am »
Fun topic, l know. Quick questions, as I once again examine KO (and regret that I didn't accept the invite thing for the Beginner's class! -- at the time I had thought I had found my religion ;-;)...

1. Does KO have a concept of sin?
2. What does KO think of homosexuality?
3. What happens to bad people when they die, according to KO?

Thanks!

A long time ago, I read through a collection of letters/statements/encyclicals from the Nisut (AUS) that were, to my recollection, entitled "Letters from (the) Nisut" are they still around?

Hallo.

So, I just very recently left Roman Catholicism after a long period of struggling with it. I originally went back to the RCC after having been a Roman pagan for awhile, so I'm familiar with KO on a basic "friendly reconstructionists" level; and I'm wondering now that I'm back to seeking a spiritual home if the House is the right place to be. As someone given to organised religion it's refreshing to see a pagan path with defined theology and a sensible hierarchy and I'm definitely wanting to look more into it. Where would you all recommend I begin?

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Serapis &c.
« on: October 09, 2013, 06:16:55 am »
What is KO's stance on deities such as Serapis and Zeus-Ammon? My dissatisfaction with the current structure of my religion is deepening; and as KO has always seemed to be a shining example of organised religion within paganism, I might as well ask...
