[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Sekhmet and Bast
« on: March 15, 2015, 06:14:45 pm »
I don't think I've ever really understood this. Are Sekhmet and Bast the same, as in, they are different aspects (syncretized?) and make a composite, or are They totally separate from each other? I've heard both, and I'm very curious. I have been very close to Bast for some time, but have never felt Sekhmet, which leads me to believe that they are separate, distinct aspects of Netjer.

Any insight would be helpful :)

Tonight it is possible that there could be some freezing rain. I have a doctor's (GI) appointment in a city about an hour away, and if it gets icy, I won't be able to go. This is a very important, because I've been in a lot of pain from pancreatitis and its complications.

Please pray that this new GI would be able to help me heal, and would be able to address my needs. Hopefully, he will be able to figure out why I keep having these problems, and I will be pain-free. Thank you all.

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Images and Icons
« on: July 12, 2014, 05:39:40 pm »
So, what do the statues/images do you have in your shrine (Assuming the gods don't mind pictures being taken, lol)? I haven't had one for awhile, but recently I went out and got a smallish statue of Ra for me to use when I'm in shrine. His sun disc unfortunately broke off, but I'll be fixing that ASAP!

When I get a picture tonight, I'll post it! (Unless I can find one on Google that looks just like it!)

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Divination
« on: June 16, 2014, 08:03:31 pm »
I'm honestly not sure where to ask this, but is there anyone who can do a divination for me? I have a question I'd like to ask Ra (or Bast, if He isn't available). I can't really do them myself, as I have no experience with this kind of thing.

If someone could help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it.

[PUBLIC] FAQ: RPD (Rite of Parent Divination) / I'm ready...
« on: December 30, 2012, 05:41:50 pm »
I've gone through the beginners' class and have been thinking hard about the RPD, and I think that I'd like to have it done. I'll have enough money this month too, so in this case, the sooner would probably be better. How do I go about this?

[PUBLIC] Prayer Requests / For a Family Member
« on: September 27, 2012, 10:11:19 pm »
My grandma (or rather, my half-sister's grandma, who I've been very close to, as I was raised around her) has been in ICU at our hospital for a couple of days. I was hoping that you guys could pray for her, she really, really needs it.
Thank you all very much, it means a lot!

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Not a surprise...
« on: August 21, 2012, 03:59:46 pm »
I came home today and found everything on my altar knocked over and thrown around with a note resting on my statue of Kuanyin that said:
"Tabitha (real name hehe)-
No other gods before me
These are just objects-you have a living God"

???
What to do....

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Drinking?
« on: August 14, 2012, 07:52:17 pm »
How do the KO's treat drinking? I myself am a big rum/vodka fan. I'm curious as to how it's received, and if it's not allowed, or well-received.

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / In relation to my heritage...?
« on: August 10, 2012, 11:10:36 pm »
A part of me is Blackfoot Indian. Is it possible for me to practice this part of my heritage while including Kemetic practices?

...I'm afraid that, since it costs, when it does come time, after I take the beginners' course, that I won't be able to have it done.   :(

What can I do?

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Incense problems?
« on: July 27, 2012, 02:41:13 pm »
Em hotep!

Even though I live in a house with a smoker, my incense-burning is not welcome. What should I do, or what could I do instead?

Thanks!

Em hotep!
First, I'm not quite sure where this goes, so if it's the wrong spot, or if it's not appropriate, I'm sorry!

Not too long ago, (maybe ten minutes?) an aunt on my sister's side sent me a message asking me if I still am 'a follower of Jesus'. I was raised Christian, and almost my entire family is. I'm not sure why she asked me, but I know if I tell her the truth, it'll spread like wildfire throughout my family (and that cannot possibly end well...)

I'm not sure how to respond in terms of this new faith I've found (though I stopped being Christian years ago.) Any help would be appreciated. I'm still very knew to this and not sure what to say!

Thanks!

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / New Year's Day
« on: July 19, 2012, 09:44:38 pm »
Em hotep!
When is New Year's? I've seen multiple dates, some in July, some in August. So what is it, really?

And how does one celebrate this holiday?

Thanks!

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Shrines
« on: July 19, 2012, 11:17:06 am »
I'm new to this, and I've been wondering how to set up a shrine. I don't know what to put, or how to assemble it. What's necessary?

Thanks!

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / A question about temples
« on: July 19, 2012, 09:17:57 am »
Em hotep!

I live in Missouri, and I was wondering if/where there are any actual, physical temples. I tried emailing the Imy-ra for my region but the address is no longer existent. So, any help would be appreciated!
