« on: October 03, 2014, 02:25:02 pm »
How do you tell the difference between Gods who have the same animal symbol? For example, Khnum and Amun are both symbolized by the Ram.

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Deified Royals
« on: September 25, 2014, 01:04:11 pm »
We know that the Pharaohs were deified after death, but were their wives and children as well?

Can one make reasonable changes regarding geography? For example, there are a lot of Natural rivers that run through the place I live. So could a Kemetic worship Sobek, Khnum and/or Hapi there even though these Gods were specifically tied to the Nile?

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Afterlife of Nisut and Everyone Else
« on: August 20, 2014, 09:04:11 pm »
Does Kemetic Orthodoxy view the afterlife as being different for the Nisut than for everyone else? For example, would a subject of the Nisut be buried with the Book of the Dead, and all other Kemetic customs to ensure a good afterlife, or would this be reserved only for the Nisut?

I have read in some places that Isis or Aset was also an Agricultural Goddess. Is this accurate?

What is the significance of the Goddess Heqet? I know she's a fertility Goddess, but what else does she preside over?

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Khnum of the Wavy Horns
« on: August 15, 2014, 09:41:02 pm »
The form of ram that represented Khnum in ancient Egypt actually existed at one time, and it too had wavy horns. However, that species is now extinct. Yet, Khnum maintains that animal as his symbol. How does this impact your worship of Khnum knowing that his animal no longer exists? Do you view the species as still existing in spirit or ascended form? Explain your perspective.

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / God's Manifestations

Correct me if I am wrong,

Kemetic Orthodoxes believe that God descends and manifests into many other distinct Gods and Goddesses.

Also, was this the common form of worship in ancient Egypt?

Who is the God or Goddess you'd pray to for a new home or to move to a new town?

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Metaphor of Myth
« on: July 06, 2014, 03:24:25 pm »
There are countless myths in ancient Egyptian religion, but how does Kemetic Orthodoxy see them? Many Polytheistic religions see their myths as allegories or metaphors, and very rarely see any of them as literal truth.

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / When A God Calls
« on: July 03, 2014, 11:13:48 pm »
Tonight, I decided to do some prayers to the Egyptian God I feel closest to, Khnum, but I began with the incense prayer to Netjer. About half way into it, a voice said my name in my ear as plain as day. It kind of freaked me out a bit but I don't know what to make of it. Any guidance or advice?
