[PUBLIC] Prayer Requests / Prayers for my family
« on: March 19, 2020, 01:15:30 pm »
Em hotep, everyone! While I might lurk these boards regularly, long time no see! I hope this doesn't feel like an intrusion, but my family and I are in desperate need of any kind of help we can get, so I thought asking my fellow kemetics for prayer would be a good idea.

First thing is that my dad may have cancer. He had an MRI a short while ago and I guess they found something, so he's going in tomorrow to know for certain. I'm sure you can guess what kind of prayers I'm asking for with this. He's only 59, still has a lot he hasn't yet done, and a lot of our lives we've yet to experience with him. We love him and really need him to turn out okay.

The second is that, due how expensive it is just getting him checked out (it's roughly 6k so far, including the MRI), and in combination with my mom's own numerous medical bills, we're flat broke. There isn't enough money between us all to support a family of five while we're covering both my parents' doctor visits, surgeries, and procedures. We have no idea how we're going to be able to afford groceries, gas, bills, the mortgage, and if my dad does have cancer, his treatment. We're all very scared of what our futures are going to look like.

Any kind of prayer to Anyone would be deeply appreciated. For money, my dad's wellness, strength for us all in a time like this, anything.

Thank you for your time! May the Netjer bless you as you've asked Them to bless us.

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Mother's Day
« on: May 13, 2018, 01:26:46 pm »
Em hotep and happy mother's day, everyone! In the spirit of the holiday, I'd like to ask y'all to share some love for your divine mother(s)! If you don't have an "official" divine mother to ramble about, just talk about a goddess you love!

While I don't have a goddess I consider my Mother yet, nor have I been divined for one, I'd like to talk about a goddess that's kind of like a mother to me, and that would be Mut. I met Her through my close relationship with Khonsu, and honestly it was incredibly heartwarming just how willingly She let me become a part of Her family. I've since been honouring the Theban Triad as a whole and could not feel more loved. Mut is graceful, loving, and flat out really cool! Through Her I feel like I belong to and with the Netjer and that's something really special to me.

Em hotep! I do apologize if this has already been brought up (please send me a link to the thread if so!), but lately I've been getting some anxieties about not seeing my gods in my line up. I plan to take the beginner's class in June, so I've still got plenty of time to think about it!! But I thought I'd just go ahead and get some information/advice.

A few deities I currently work with, and very much love, are some I've yet to see anyone be divined children/beloveds of. I've seen many people divined for "big names" like Set or Bast, but not Tutu or Sepa. Should I be worried They won't show up for me? Or can someone even be divined under Them in the first place? If so, do big names gods have a higher chance ratio than more obscure ones, or do all Netjeru get an equal chance?

I'm sorry for asking so many questions, I'm just afraid I'll be a child/beloved for someone I don't have much connection with simply because They're statistically more likely to show up. :'( Being a child/beloved of any god is a blessing, of course, but the anxiety is still there.

P.S. If any of these questions can't be answered due to process of RPD being a secret rite, I understand!

Thank you!

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Sepa Imagery
« on: March 13, 2018, 06:42:18 pm »
Em hotep!

Recently, I've become quite interested in Sepa after seeing a small centipede crawl below my shrine (who I had then named Sepa Jr.). I expected His visit to be a one time thing, but it seems He's stuck around! To cut to the chase, I'm hoping that someone here might have any links or photos of images of Sepa, the centipede god? He's said to usually be depicted as a mummified man with the antenna(/horns) of a centipede, and sometimes even with the head of a donkey.

Thank you!

[PUBLIC] Prayer Requests / Transgender Day of Remembrance
« on: November 20, 2017, 11:37:54 am »
As some of you may know, November 20th is the Transgender Day of Remembrance! It's a day meant to honour the trans lives murdered in hate crimes. I'd like to think it includes those lost to suicide as well, but the reality of the danger transphobia poses to innocent people is up front.

So on this day I'd like to ask for prayers on behalf of the departed. Below is a list of the known trans people we've lost to hatred this year:

https://www.thedailybeast.com/on-transgender-day-of-remembrance-these-are-25-trans-people-killed-so-far-in-2017-10

I'd also like to note that, as you can see, the majority of victims are black women. It's critically important that we work to protect all trans people from transphobic violence, but the safety of black trans women is most urgent.

Please pray for the innocent we've lost, and for the transgender people living today. It'd mean the world to me.

Thank you <3

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Children or Beloveds of Min?
« on: October 26, 2017, 01:55:22 pm »
Em hotep!!

I was wondering if anyone's been divined family to Min, or has even worked with Him at the very least. I feel a strong connection to Him for some personal reasons, and wanted to know what other people have experienced with Him! What's He like? What kinds of things has He helped you with? Why the HECK aren't there more followers of this lovely god??

Senebty!

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Could someone tell me about priesthood?
« on: December 22, 2016, 10:22:18 pm »
Em hotep!!

Just a little preface: Ever since I became a kemetic, I've had this gentle calling that told me I was meant for priesthood. Like it's something I just HAVE to do. I'm not sure who I'll be a priest for, or when. This feeling has been with me for two and a half years, so I think it's pretty certain it's where the NTRW want me to head.

That being said, I wanna gather information on what being a kemetic priest is like!! So, to any of you that fit the description (KO or not), what are your experiences as a priest? What do you do for your chosen god? What should I know if I want to pursue the path to priesthood? What was your journey like? Can you point me to any resources that would help me out??

Thank you!! <3

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Akher
« on: June 26, 2016, 03:16:00 pm »
Has anybody interacted with Akher/Ruti, the Twin Lions of Yesterday and Tomorrow? Could you please tell me about Them?? If not, does anyone know any websites I could visit to learn about Them? I've already checked out Henadology.

Thank you! <3

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Self-Care Advocate/Keeper?
« on: December 20, 2015, 05:52:25 am »
Em hotep, everyone. I'm a little bit out of the loop and am not familiar with these titles, like "Sekhmet Self-Care Keeper" and "Wepwawet Self-Care Advocate" that I see written in some folks' forum signatures. Could someone please explain to me what these titles mean?

Thank you!

[PUBLIC] Welcome! / Hey Folks
« on: June 29, 2014, 01:43:52 pm »
Em Hotep!

So, hello, my name's Anakin. And yes, I did indeed get my name from Star Wars. Nicknames are welcome.

I've been practicing Kemeticism for a few months and've been eyeing the House of Netjer for just as long (probably?). Bast's been following me through my life, I've learned, but only recently did I realize there was a whole other world out there. I've grown close to Ra, Sekhmet, Bast and Sutekh.

Anyway, I'm here at the forums in hopes of finally connecting with folks with the same beliefs! So yeah, yay friendship.

Thanks for listening!
