Em hotep everyone I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.  Today during Senut I got to brainstorming about an idea I got awhile back that made me wonder.  If the Netjer lived as we do, what kind of jobs would They have today based on their divine duties and personal gnosis.  So I thought it'd be fun to start a thread here for those who would like to share their ideas.  So to start with here's what I came up with:

Heru-sa-Aset: I imagine Him being a president whether of a country or just a business, either one works.  I can also see Him being a defense attorney, making sure the wrong guy isn't sentenced to jail for example.  Some other occupations I can see are Him as a cop/detective taking down the bad guys, and a pilot of a commercial airline or in the Air Force.

Set:  Honestly He was a bit hard to come up with, but a few that I thought of would be as a professional biker/mechanic, street racer, a rock star, and even a truck driver.  To me His handle would be something like Black Bandit, Red or Desert Bandit.

Nut:  To me Nut would be a caregiver helping the elderly, or perhaps a therapist.  I also see Her being a volunteer at a shelter helping and feeding the homeless.  And while I know She's not specifically associated with childbirth for some reason I can see Her as a midwife as well as a nurse who works with children.  I can see Her being a kindergarten teacher too.

Aset-Serqet:  She is kind of hard for me to pin down, but the few I was able to come up with are Her as a spiritual counselor/high priestess, as well as a healer/herbalist and/or a doctor.

Djehuty:  He was easy to come up with.  A scientist of any field.  A thespian/theater director who writes and directs His own plays.  I always picture Him as a somewhat flamboyant person wearing glasses and a scarf, in my head it's usually purple for some reason.  A scholar of any field.  A historian.  A college professor, such as Yale or maybe Oxford for example.  I can also see Him as an alchemist and astronomer/astrologist along with being an astrophysicist.  I can see Him as an architect, a lawyer and a stage magician.

Khnum and Hapi:  These two I see owning Their own spa and salon together.  Khnum would work in the hair, fashion, and beauty department while Hapi would work in the massage, mud baths, meditation, yoga department.  For example:  "Divine Beauty Spa and Salon, where our motto is "Cleanliness is next to Godliness."  They would serve all kinds, whether god/dess, mythical creature or human.

Ra:  I see Him being a sea captain, as well as a ship builder too.  Also can see Him being a lighthouse keeper making sure ships/boats are safe during the night, keeping away the darkness and other things.  I could even see Him as a jail warden too.

Yinepu:  Going with the obvious, He would be a funeral director.  Not sure if this one is obvious but I see Him as a medical examiner too.  Also as a medium (but not the showy kind of course who televise themselves) helping souls cross over and as a grief counselor helping the living deal with their loss.

Bast:  I can see Her working at an animal shelter or a rescue nursing wild animals back to health, especially cats, but other animals too.  I can imagine Her as a policewoman also protecting the innocent.

Geb:  He would be a gardener and I see Him as an herbalist, working in alternative medicine.  I could see Him being a chef too, and park ranger making sure people don't get lost and that parks aren't threatened too.

Wesir:  The only thing I could think of for Wesir is Him as a groundskeeper at a local cemetery, keeping the spirits company and protecting the land from vandalism.

Em Hotep everyone.  I hope y'all are having a fantastic day so far.  I just wanted to step in and ask a question.  What are some good devotional activities for the Netjer aside from Senut?  So far I've just been going by feeling, especially when it comes to my Papa, but I thought it would be fun to open a discussion about some activities that They like us to do for Them.

I know for example, that Djehuty really likes it when work on my creative endeavors such as writing or even just reading about history if I do it in His name.

For Aset anything magic related such as ritual and Senut is definitely my go-to for Her.

For Gods like Set and Sobek, acts of courage definitely go a long way for Them in my experience.

But for Netjer like Nut, or even my Papa Heru-sa-Aset I'm sometimes unsure of what activities They'd like.

So, if you have any stories to share, please feel free to do so.  I'd love to hear what everyone has to say and hope you guys enjoy this topic too.  :)

Hi guys.  I recently had a (semi-lucid) dream about another deity Papa Legba, someone I've been very interested in, but then He said I belong to another and my new Eye of Heru tattoo started ringing and I woke up.

What I wanted to ask from my fellow siblings is: Does He tend to be possessive (couldn't think of a better word :P ) of His children when it comes to working with other gods, especially outside the Kemetic pantheon?

[PUBLIC] Prayer Requests / Healing Heka Request
« on: May 03, 2016, 12:24:24 pm »
Hi all.  I would very much like to ask you guys if you could please send some much needed healing heka my way as I've just discovered after my appointment this morning that I might possibly have a genital wart due to um, certain activities.  My doctor took a sample and is sending it to the lab for results.  But in the mean time it would be greatly appreciated if you could send some good energy my way so that if it is what the doctor suspects, that it just be that because at least warts can be cured.  Please and thank you.

Hi everyone.  I'm doing this because I realized I hadn't introduced myself yet on the forums, mainly because I'm not tech savvy like some people are, at least when it comes to forums and only now just figured out to do it after forgetting how in the first place.

Anyway, my name is Garrett and I'm currently a Northeast Minnesotan who will be moving down to Texas next Summer, one of the many reasons being the seemingly endless winters that occur here in the land of ten thousand lakes.  I'm so excited to be apart of the Orthodoxy and all the many new experiences I'm sure will come to follow.

I've been fascinated with Kemetic Religion and Mythology ever since I was a kid and I first saw The Mummy starring Branden Frasier and Rachel Weisz.  I even wanted to be an archeologist for the longest time after seeing that movie, but I fell in love with writing instead and am working towards being a published author and screenwriter.  The biggest reason I decided against professional archeology is because I realized after some research that I didn't like the fact I'd always be overseas and wouldn't have time for friends and relationships.

Anyway, now I'm just focused on being a writer and aspire to one day be a television writer as well.  I look forward to getting to know more of you guys as I continue my journey along the Kemetic path.  :)
