Hello, all!  During some discussion with various folks, the idea came up to have a thread for the posting of anti-racism resources.

Please mention the country that your resources refer to (if applicable) and resources in other languages (especially Portugese :) ) would be very welcome.

I wanted to start a thread: if you could visit Egypt, which ancient sites would you most like to visit?

I know, I know, there are so many!! :D

For me: Medinet Madi (temple dedicated to Renenutet and Sobek); Philae (Aset is my Mom, after all :D); Kom Ombo (for the Heru-wer love); if it were open to the public, the Old Kingdom tomb of Wahtye.

Of course, the new Egyptian museum!

Another new(ish) discovery:

"The coffins, whose brightly-coloured decorations are still visible, were uncovered at the Theban necropolis of Asasif, on the River Nile's west bank."

An Old Kingdom Tomb has been found at Saqqara. It belongs to a priest named Wahtye. The pics are amazing!

A cartouche in the pics is for Neferirkare II.

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Bast and Her Amulets
« on: December 13, 2018, 10:16:14 pm »
Em hotep:

I have a question for Bast kids and other enthusiasts:

The seated cat Bast statues are often depicted with amulets. So far I've seen three: Eye of Ra (udjat), Uraeus, and Scarab beetle (winged or not). The first two are obviously related to Bast as an Eye of Ra, but as Khepri is the dawn (usually) would that relate to the Eye as the one who has been pacified/returned? Something completely different?

I'm curious because my Bast figurine has just the scarab (no wings).

EDIT: Historical and UPG info both welcome. :)

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Oct 20 beginners class

Em hotep all:

Was curious if the Oct 20 beginner class has been postponed? I still haven't received anything yet. (Didn't want to e-mail Rev. Tamara as she's usually incredibly busy)

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / June beginner class question
« on: April 09, 2018, 05:11:58 pm »
Em hotep all. :)

I was wondering who would know approx. when the June beginner class ends. I'll be taking a trip to help scatter my dad's ashes late July or beginning of Aug.  If missing time is an issue I can wait until the class after. (Feb?)

[PUBLIC] Prayer Requests / Prayer for my dad
« on: April 09, 2018, 04:20:49 pm »
Em hotep.

If anyone has the time/inclination I'd like to request prayers for my dad Donald Sigurjon on his journey through the afterlife. He died March 18, 2018.

Thank you.

Em hotep and Hi all:

I took a look at my local library and sadly couldn't find anything that was on the rec'd book list. [I admit that I was very amused at the Budge side-eyes - Stargate got something right!  ;D]

I was able to find A History of Ancient Egypt by Nicolas Grimal.(English translation of original French) Anyone familiar with this? Anything to watch out for? It was written in the late 80's so I'm going to assume that research has moved on in some things.

[PUBLIC] Welcome! / Hello Bonjour from Canada
« on: April 05, 2018, 05:02:19 pm »
Hey all:

Since I've been approved to poke about in the forums I should probably introduce myself. :D

I'm a Canadian woman, (let's see....) Bisexual, poly, former Wiccan (somewhere between Farrarian and Reclaiming :D). I've been fascinated with ancient Egypt since I was a child but never really translated that into a spiritual path, despite being mostly fascinated with the gods.

Over the years I've felt faint nudges toward Nuit, Anpu, and Wadjet, but currently am finding myself drawn to Tefnut and Shu in lion form. (I think, anyway. Many, many leonine Netjer to chose from!  :o)

So greetings to you all and I hope to learn more as I read through the threads.
