[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Wenut as parent/beloved?
« on: December 13, 2018, 12:44:19 pm »
Em hotep!

Just noticing, and I don't think I've ever seen Wenut as someone's parent or beloved. This made me wonder if there's a reason for Her not having shown up for anyone, or if I missed it, and she actually is.

I remember a while ago reading that someone asked the same question about Ma'at as a name, and someone said that we're all children of Ma'at and that's why She doesn't show up on the RPD. Is there a similar reason for Wenut perhaps?

She's always been a particularly interesting name to me, as it seems that there is so little known about her. :)

Thank you for any answers!

[PUBLIC] Prayer Requests / In memory of my dog
« on: November 23, 2018, 02:13:42 pm »
Em hotep,

Today I had to make the hard decision and put my best friend Mindy to sleep due to congestive heart failure - her temperature dropped to a very low number, her lungs were giving out and her heart was three times the size it should be. Mindy was a Jack Russell Terrier with a bit of Corgi in her. She was 17 and a half and I have had her for 11 years. She was an incredibly lucky dog and never had any problems until now. Tomorrow I will be bringing her back to be cremated. Any prayers for her safe journey onward would be appreciated. Her loss is harder than I anticipated it to be. :'(

Thank you, and senebty. <3

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / The number four
« on: August 26, 2018, 03:42:03 pm »
Em hotep,

So, the number four is the Kemetic number of completion... but is there anything else that is known about this? Why four? Is there anything particularly symbolic of the number four, or does it play a major role in some myths?

Thank you :)

[PUBLIC] Prayer Requests / Prayers for my loved ones
« on: August 24, 2018, 02:30:27 pm »
Em hotep, I hope Wep Ronpet was a splendid time for all of you.

I would like to ask for some prayers for some of my loved ones, whom I won't name out of respect, who have been suffering from mental health issues, and this month has been especially bad for them.

It is beyond my control to help them no matter how much help I offer to them or the hopefully uplifting words I give them. I don't see them everyday, so I can only send them positive messages online and offer a shoulder to cry on, but again, they will only come to me when they themselves want to, and they aren't the kind of people to talk about their issues much. It's heartbreaking to watch, because they are in a dark place that I've been in many times before, and my help seems often useless.

I pray for and end to their suffering, and I pray for their healing and that their days will be calmer.

Thank you. ♥

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Sekhmet's relation to art.
« on: June 06, 2018, 10:01:45 am »
Em hotep,

I have a vague memory of drawing a devotional piece of Sekhmet when I was in school maybe nine years ago, or so. I can remember I wrote "Sekhmet, Goddess of Art" on the piece, having earlier read somewhere on the internet that She is associated with art.

Now, all these years later, I'm trying to find anything on that piece of information. I can't recall if I misunderstood it or misread it, but I remember it being specifically about Sekhmet and art. I am also aware of the epithet "at Whose wish the arts were born" but I'm not sure what it relates to... it's all a very vague memory and I was wondering if anyone here might know Her relation to art, apart from her relationship to Ptah.

I hope this makes sense! Thanks in advance.

[PUBLIC] Welcome! / Returning
« on: June 06, 2018, 04:54:52 am »
I've decided to return to the forums anew as I used to be on here for some years.
My name is Deborah, I live on the Emerald Isle, and have an undying love for the Netjeru.
Soon I hope to finally, after many years, take the beginner's class. Definitely this year!

It is lovely to see you all.
