[PUBLIC] Prayer Requests / Re: Prayer for job offer
« on: September 30, 2021, 03:16:26 pm »
I just wanted to give you all the latest: first i received an offer short of what I required, requiring a substantial amount of travel on my own dime.. but then I was contacted by a recruiter almost immediately after I solicited prayers of you. The previous offer elicited a rush on the part of the recruiter to get me interviewed, had the interview and a follow-up all within under a week of my initial conversation with the recruiter...who just contacted me with an offer with a 10% increase over my previous salary. Plus, I met someone online (I'm recently divorced and have been super lonely...there's no love connection but I'm cool with gaining a friend ;D ), I got a refund from the Uni that I was NOT expecting, AND it posted to my account quicker than past refunds. Suffice it to say, I cannot wait to receive the Prayerbook, which I ordered last night! All that to say, thank you for your prayers. It is my belief that without them, none of this would have been possible!

[PUBLIC] Prayer Requests / Prayer for job offer

Hotep all,

Last month I was laid off from my job of 17 years. For the last two weeks, my schedule was packed with screeners, interviews, and 2nd and 3rd follow-ups. Of about a half dozen that went well, in my opinion, I had two that I thought I nailed. Yesterday, I received a rejection email from one, and today, from the other.

No one wants to be laid off so saying that this could not have happened at a worse time is a given but, ten days earlier, I'd finalized my divorce, then in between, had to gut my savings to cover tuition for my daughter, and had trouble with kidney stones, and the chronic pain in both hips. Problems then escalated further after receiving word that I was laid off.

I went into the job search with the mindset, "one door closes..." and had a strange sense of peace throughout most of what I mentioned above, which I attribute to the divorce, I'm sure I was not the only one to doubt that I would actually file and see it through. But I'm struggling to maintain positivity after getting rejected for one job that I really wanted, and the other that I felt I aligned well with the company.

I'm asking for prayers because I feel one of the things I'm meant to do is to lean on others for support, rather than try to handle issues on my own as I have for many years, for fear that any outside help would not be as dedicated as the help I've provided friends, colleagues and direct reports over the years; that people don't "move like I move" so best handle issues myself rather than expect the same level of care as I provided in the past. So, I am stepping put of my comfort zone and I ask that you pray that at least one of the previous interviews leads to a solid offer and/or that I find the job meant for me and the process is blessed from application to job offer.

Thanking you all in advance,

-O.

Em Hotep!

I'm completely new to KO but am so ready to begin practicing! How does a neophyte learn to properly practice? I'd created an altar before I even knew anything about senut and essentially set up a shrine to the ancestors well before learning anything about anku; only took a couple modifications to make for a proper shrine, in my opinion. Any guidance is appreciated!
