I believe that Amun can also be depicted as lion headed - I recall reading that in Wilkinson's "Gods and Goddesses of Egypt".

Greeting again after some time!

I believe that Sia and Hu appear together often, and traveled with Ra in His ark.

It is beautiful, thank you for sharing!

I have a similar Maat statue that I brought back all the way from Cairo. I loved being in one of the shops at the bazaar there where they tried to tell me every statue "is Isis" and I was able to politely give them the correct information (yes, they tried to pass Maat off as Auset too!)

Interesting. I was only thinking tonight about one of the clearest interactions I have had with Netjer, and opened the forum to see your post.

It was Khonsu, in a dream, that asked me if I wanted to join the Netjeru. He was in baboon form but His face was very man like.

I feel Khonsu and Djehuty very strongly with the full moons, especially many from this year.

[PUBLIC] Welcome! / Re: Planetary Alingment

I saw the photos too and it is pretty much as Ankhetbast mentioned.

The ancients knew much about astrology, and how the various stars and planets tied into various monuments and festivals is worth researching.

There is a lady called Ruby Falconer that specialises in Kemetic astrology as it manifests today. Here is the link to her book:

Joan Lansberry has published this book and it is well worth checking out. I blogged about it here:

I often find myself with "Kemetic offcuts" as a result of my art work or Shrine and magickal practice.

These are items that I have used to write out an offering, to print a picture to inspire a colour or form for a painting that I stick to my easel, or practice glyphs of Netjer names on paper. They helped to make a new thing but no longer serve as a thing itself.

I find it hard to just "toss" these items out. I have placed them in a box, and when the time comes, will burn them in a ritual way respectful to Who and What they represent.

The Chicago House article gives a rich insight into the mechanics of the reign of Amenhotep III, and I have always felt that it is here we would find valuable information about what truly occured when Akhenaton became king. (I did not know, for example, that the former became deified in his lifetime).

I will set upon the other article this weekend, and hopefully there will be more answers to the Ra / Aton enigma there.

These articles look great, thanks. I will give them a read.

For my R post (I am running behind with my PBP posts) I did a recap on all the posts I have done for the project this year!

I am interested to read any information from ancient times that discusses the similarities, differences, and convergences between Ra and the Aton.

Am also keen to hear of any UPG experiences.

Here is a "review" of various Kemetic decks / cartomancy systems that I posted as part of the Pagan Blog Project:

@Khukua I have delved into the chakras (primarily via Theospophy) and less so kundalini, but from what I understand the Eastern understanding of Soul Anatomy does express itself somewhat through these energy systems.

That said, it does not entirely mirror or correspond with what I am getting from the Kemetics and their understandings. I think the Kemetics were unique with this.

Quote from: Senytmenu
Psychologist Mariana Caplan has this to say about Shadow in her book Eyes Wide Open:  "The light that will heal the world will shine brighter to the degree that we are willing to know and accept our own darkness."

I like that very much!

@Khukua I do not think the bodies are separate, but I do think they become disconnected and are most likely in a  deactivated state. The Kemetic texts point to rituals to aid in activating the "higher" bodies so I do not think this is far off the mark.

In the same way that we may not be able to remember every single thing we have done in our lives, our "unconscious" (which is tied in to one or more of the bodies - I am still trying to sort that) does. Techniques like hypnosis help us recall such things.
