[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Re: Children/Beloveds of Mut
« on: September 14, 2019, 03:17:16 pm »
One of my Mothers is Mut-As-Amunet, and I was told during my divination that I should get to know Mut to "know" Her.  I am still trying to do just that, ha ha.  Because She is Amunet, I probably have very different experiences of Her.  For me, She is air, knowledge of the unseen and the unknown, whispers on the wind.  She is beautiful, kind, patient, and loving.  She is very nurturing, but she also has a formality about her.  She wants me to be the best person possible and holds me to high standards, but she is also very empathic and knows when I need "me time" versus when I am actually slacking off.  She is very quiet and watches me from the sidelines more than she gets involved.  She likes to be there, but she doesn't like it when I actually notice she's there.  I get her sometimes in lion form and sometimes as a cobra, but in either form, it is always on the sidelines blending in to the background.

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Sekhmet as Hedgehog
« on: June 02, 2019, 02:29:52 pm »
So.. I have been trying to connect with Sekhmet lately, and recently I came across "Sekhmet as hedgehog".  Does anyone have information to this connection between hedgehogs and Sekhmet?  I thought She was usually associated with lions, so the hedgehog connection is really interesting to me.  Any information would be greatly appreciated!  :)

I look forward to hearing more of your writings as you have the time, Hepetwi!  In the meantime, please feel free to message me anytime about Amunet, I love talking about her!  I am only the second of her children here in the House. :)

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Re: Set and anger
« on: January 12, 2019, 06:44:14 pm »
I have never associated Set and anger very closely at all.  For me, he has been stern, and blunt, and matter-of-fact, but I have never seen any anger in my dealings with him.  He expects me to be the best I can be in any given situation, and he doesn't like it when I try to cut corners (which I don't do very often!) but he is never angry.  He can be stern, but there is always an affection behind his eyes.  He teaches.  A LOT.  I've never been angry with him either.  Really, he is just amazing, and he keeps me accountable to myself, through constantly challenging whether I am doing and being, the best I can be.

Late in 2015, I experienced a lot of upheaval in my life.  I basically decided my marriage was over, left my husband, and moved to a city 5 hours away and started a whole new life, all within a two-week period.  I knew it was coming, because Amunet told me so (she really can't keep a secret, lol).  But, as a result, I also lost a lot of my spiritual connections.  I now think that they stepped back on purpose to allow me to re-discover myself and learn the new direction my life was taking.  I think disconnection does happen, and that sometimes it is needed.  Sometimes we do the disconnecting, and other times it is initiated on the other side for whatever reason, but I think it is temporary.  I know for my own situation, I did get it back.  I also think that, depending on the situation, we may need a little more, or a little less, time to adjust.  In general, my belief is that, if we are going to be present, They want us to be all there, not just partly, so They may back off until we are emotionally there and can fully experience Them.

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Re: What is the color of Set?...
« on: January 12, 2019, 05:55:23 pm »
I typically associate red with Set, but when he appears to me personally, he is not red and does not have red hair or anything.  I think for me it is maybe similar to an aura?  Perhaps, although I do not see him physically as red, his aura might be!  I don't think that helped you very much though, lol!

I will join the Set fan club as well - I think He is amazing!  Of course, I am a bit biassed as he is my beloved. :)

I tend to be rather informal in my interactions with Them and, aside from Senut, I very rarely do an organized prayer for any of them unless it is part of a festival or something else formal.  Typically for daily interaction, I simply say their name/s and then speak from the heart.  This feels much more personal to me, and I feel like it really comes from me directly, versus something I've recited that someone else has written.  So far, there seems to be no objections.  I haven't written down any of them, but I have thought about it.  I could create my own devotion book!

Oooohhhhh!!!  As a daughter of Amunet, I am super excited about this!  Yes, please share more as you write!!

I agree that, even when "known" that they will probably show up in RPD, it may not be in the order expected!  Amunet, one of my mothers, is also a rare.  There are just two daughters and one beloved that I am aware of.  I suspected she might be there, but I thought it would be as a beloved.  I had expected also, that Bast and Set would be my parents, as they were the "loudest".  However, the reality is that I am daughter of Bast and Amunet, and beloved of Set!  Since my divination, I have often been amazed at just how perfect this arrangement is for me.  I wouldn't have it any other way! :)

I have to say, I have thought about this as well, particularly before my divination.  I think it's natural to want to find connection, not only to others, but also with ourselves, and how we relate to the world - and then the potential post-divinations that will connect us to parents, beloveds, and siblings.  When I was a beginner I looked for specific traits as well, to see if there were any pre-connections I could make.  However, what I have realized is that there really are no predictors, due to the diverse mix of parents and beloveds, our individual personalities, and life experience.  What I have also realized, which didn't occur to me at the time, is that there can be different aspects of a Name that may show up for certain people than for others.  For instance, my form of Bast is Bast the Devourer, whereas others who have Bast as a parent might get the Invisible Paw.  Then there are the differences between having a Name as a parent, versus as a beloved, which can also have an impact!  It's interesting to think about, but all the possibilities can make your brain hurt!!

Amunet is one of my mothers.  There are only two children of Amunet so far, and one or two beloveds, so she is definitely what I would call "rare". :)

15
Well, it does depend on context somewhat, but generally when speaking to them, I always use their names, Bast, Amunet, and Set.  Usually in that order if addressing all three of them, as that is how they arrived in my RPD.  When talking ABOUT them to someone else, it is usually Mom, Mama, Set.  If I need to distinguish between my mothers, I'll say Mama Bast and Mama Amunet.  I really don't think I've ever called them anything else. ;)
