I have a complex shrine, which, I heavily enjoy. It helps me focus on the gods when I am entirey engrossed in their images.
However, your shrine can be as complex or simple as you need it to be. You don't need fancy statues or items for them, but at the same time it is your space. Their home in your home, and you can make it how you (and they) wish it to be. It's not the most elegant answer but it's the one I have to give.
Generally the only rule they have given for the shrine is that Sutekh doesn't want me to take pictures of his space, and since his space dominates most of my altar I just don't take pictures of the altar.
Good luck on your shrine!

I would call upon Isis if not Seth, she is quite the healer.

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: Non-blood Akhu?
« on: July 14, 2017, 11:37:57 pm »
Non-blood Akhu can absolute be venerated! Chosen family is just as and for some people more important than their blood family. Plus Temple Akhu and others are non-blood.

Tsar Nikolai II and his immediate family are on my Akhu shrine, due to their historical  influence on my family and the fact that I grew up hearing about him from my mother as "our tsar". I also venerate my queer forbearers as well.

That is pretty cool. I used to be fascinated by them as a child. Even read the very lengthy diary of theirs, carried pictures of his daughters and what not.

I'm currently trying to research more about how to honor the Akhu, and get ahold of a picture of someone who was a family friend who passed away years ago. (Unfortunately, it doesn't look very likely to happen)

Thank you for all of the replies and greetings.

The Nejter are connected to a lot of pantheons, actually. There is art sycrenizing Seth with another god, Ash, and he is also connected to the storm god Baal.

I often get the urge to draw them. Or they'll take over a drawing that was un-related. (Sutah is really great at doing that.)

Definitely Sutah. He's always been my patron, though, not always the god I've been interested in the most throughout my life. But his strong will and Don't [censored] with me attitude speaks to me.

Welcome to the forum! (It's obsidianservant)
Howdy partner!
Ooh, I know you! I'm forceyourway. Good to see you on here! <3

Are you interested in taking the Beginner's Class?

I've never really thought about it too much. My family is hostile to any non-Christian faiths so I don't think it'd be a wise idea. I've been toting that "I'm just really curious about AE" line for awhile but it's becoming dangerous.

I know that place, and it's a sucky place to be. I'm sorry you have to deal with that, friend. And I'm glad you're able to come hang with us on the forums. <3
Thank you

You have some nice artwork there, welcome!

Senebty!
Neheh...

Thank you. I actually just posted a new piece.

I would say look up John Romer's stuff on youtube. They're not specifically about the gods but they are very good.
There are 2 documentaries on youtube, and they talk about:

Ancient Life (going as far as to tell you about specific people)
This is based on his book, Ancient Lives. I posted a quote about
it somewhere on my blog, which can be found here.
Tombs
Site Conservation (an issue still going on today. NOTE: these documentaries are form the 80s)
