I also think I should mention that I have never had an offering rejected from Yinepu nor has He ever intimated that a particular type of offering was taboo or inappropriate.

:) Much of what you write is also how I experience Him.

It is a wonder of the Names to hear others speak of Yinepu as "bouncy" or "child-like" and it seems as if they are speaking of some other God.

Interesting!

Many of my brothers and sisters, especially those closer to Wepwawet, seem to experience Yinepu as you have described: playful, innocent, and child-like.

I think this depends on what side of Yinepu-Wepwawet/Wepwawet-Yinepu coin you tend to gravitate to and then even if you're on the Yinepu-Wepwawet side, what part of Him you relate to.

For me, I am closer to Yinepu Tepy-dju-ef, He Who Is upon His Mountain, a side of Yinepu that is closely associated with death, so He has never come to me as playful or child-like.

Just starting a thread to talk about my favorite Name! (Of course, I'm completely unbiased.)

What has your experiences with Yinepu-Wepwawet taught you?

What has Yinepu-Wepwawet, Himself, taught you?

Keeping my initial post succinct:

My experiences with Yinepu-Wepwawet have taught me that some of the most divine and holy experiences can be the most mundane, that is, I do not need a burning bush to experience God.

Yinepu-Wepwawet, Himself, has taught me compassion and patience. He has also helped me find my equilibrium whereas, previously, I swung from one extreme to another quite easily.

A long time ago, I was one of the first students of another Kemetic temple built by a former member of the House. I can attest that, at least for this temple, the reason it seemed as if the rituals used by other Kemetic temples were the same as those created  by Hemet (AUS) was because they, in fact, were.

It used to bother me a lot, really. I used to be personally offended by the 'appropriation' of my Gods and 'pigeonholing' of Them into contexts and roles that I believed did not befit Them.

But, nowadays, I am not bothered. What grounds do I have to judge another's practice or theology? Does it personally affect me? Let them do as They do.

The Gods, after all, need no human champion. :)

I agree with most of the others. Regardless of the specifics of the situation (e.g., love, money, purity, jobs, school, etc), I always approach my Father and my Beloved first.

I also believe that if it is both within the power of the Netjeru and within Their benevolent providence, They will help. If They do not directly help me resolve the issue, then I trust and believe that They, being divine beings beyond my full comprehension and having a perspective and understanding of my problem (and my life, the possible results, etc), greater than I could ever fathom, have made the choice that is best for me by abstaining from direct involvement.

In those cases, I believe They feel it is best for me to work the issue out on my own. The Gods are not here to solve our problems, but it is a testament to Their benevolence when They do.

ma'aRa could also mean 'Ra Guides' or 'Guided by Ra'
m''Ra could mean 'Ra sees'

Also ma' can also mean 'true, proper, correct (i.e., Ma'at-like).

I'm very sorry.

Having re-read the entire thread and my own posts, an apology is in order.

I was trying to seem 'cool' and 'objective' but I can tell now that I'm just coming off as a jerk; I'm very sorry for that. It happens often and it's a flaw in my particular style of writing (and talking, so I should really have learned by now). I really only have one setting: goofy and when I try to be serious... well, this is the result! :(

Very sorry if I've put anyone off. Really didn't mean it!

I apologize, then, for misunderstanding your meaning. A thousand apologies, even! :)

I think the misunderstanding arises in the fact that we write Yinepu as a transliteration of the sound Hemet believes the best approximation and not a transliteration in the straight 1 = A sense. So, in that way, our transliteration is both wrong and right! :)

I'm not 'taking' anything and interpreting it differently. I've only addressed that which was plainly written; it was stated, without any ambiguity, that a transliteration many of us use for the name of our God was wrong.

Never once did I claim that any other rendition was wrong nor do I even make comment on that. I, personally, do not care how one spells the name of any God they choose to honor.

The criticism I draw here is that it was stated, quite unequivocally, that the way the House transliterates a God's name is wrong. I simply pointed out why and on whose learned experience from which we draw that transliteration and, hopefully, only implied that to throw the label 'wrong' on a word many of us use for a name of our God is quite the challenge without any academic sources to support it.

Like I said, I do not care if someone uses the name Yinepu or Anubis; I don't care if you think one is better than the other; I don't care if you think scholarship supports a better transliteration. More power to you! :)

What I dislike is someone saying, "What you're doing is wrong."
