[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: WANT TO SEE YOUR SHRINE PICTURES« on: January 17, 2021, 05:44:16 pm »

My shrine is finally at the point where I'm happy to share it. The two small boxes are low-smoke frankincense and sandalwood Japanese incense, and the gold-and-white feather is an incense holder. The white lotus is a candle holder, and I use locally made beeswax tealights or votives. The off-white tray is a handmade clay sushi dish from Thailand, and I use it to present my offerings. The four white tea cups and matching tea pot are for cool water during the Senut. On top of the puja table (made without dedication to the Hindu pantheon) are my AGI statues for my mother Aset, and my beloveds Tefnut and Heru. Though the AGI for Tefnut is a Sekhmet icon, it radiates Her energy. All three statues were specifically requested by the Names that they're being used to represent. Finally, the gold-painted wood carving at Aset's feet is my Shemsu name in hieroglyphs, a wonderful and unexpected Moomas present from Sesaiaset. ♥ 3

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: What do you wear?« on: December 31, 2020, 01:13:29 am »
I wear this pendant: two birds forming a circle, mouths open to embrace a garnet "sun". I'd never found the perfect piece of jewellery for my line-up before finding this one. I associate gold with Netjer more than any other metal, and in my mind's eye, the two birds are Aset and Tefnut, Eyes of Ra, ascending towards Him and intimately connected to each other. Now that Heru is officially part of my lineup, I find that He, too, is perfectly embodied by this piece: for He is the birds, He is the garnet sun, and He is the empty space between which, for me, represents the midday sky.

[PUBLIC] Kemet Today - Rev. Tamara's Blog & Podcast / Re: The 42 Purifications« on: December 06, 2020, 04:05:15 pm »The second part of this purification has announced our innocence in tying up the local nome god. Hemet (AUS) states that this purification may had something to do with theophany of local cults. She does go on to explain that another way to examine this purification is not forcing Netjer in a box. [...] It is important for us not put make things dogmatic, dualistic, and conceptualized. The gods and Their behaviors are beyond what are minds can fathom. We need to be open to the experiential component of living a modern Kemetic Orthodox life. While scholarly works and study are important and can bring us closer to Netjer, I feel it is that experiential ecstatic relationship which will truly help us not to tie Netjer down. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this (second-last!) purification, Rev. Raheri. I know that I definitely struggle with the second half of it, and I'm sure that I'm not the only one. 7

Anti-Racism resources specifically related to racism towards Indigenous Australians. This isn't listed in any particular order except for putting the research paper at the top. Apart from that one paper, it's a compilation pulled from my own collection. All authors are indigenous (as am I).

Thank you, TahekerutAset (and Emsenet) and Asethepetwi for your posts. <3 I've managed to get a hold of LAGG, so I think I'm going to make translating, organising and dissecting all 50+ pages my passion project for the Temple. ![]() 12

I've scoured all 23 pages, and I don't think that Aset's epithets have been listed yet! Well, our very own TahekerutAset has a wonderful website which lists Her epithets. I don't have access to LAGG, or sufficient understanding of German, to see if this list is complete -- but TahekerutAset's work on Mama is fantastic in general.

Em hotep~
To those I've already met: long time, no see! To those who've joined in my absence: it's a pleasure to meet you! Due to difficult personal circumstances, I left the Temple some time ago with no intention of returning. As Netjer would have it, that turned out not to be the case and Hemet (AUS) has graciously allowed me to return as a Shemsu once more! My Shemsu name is EmseneterAset, or, in the likeness of Aset. I am a daughter of Aset and beloved of Tefnut. I'm a dairy farmer, I have two cats, and I live with my partner in a small rural town in Victoria, Australia. I'm a greenie, I eat too much chocolate, and I play Sisters of Battle in Warhammer 40,000. My favourite movie is Kotcheff's 1971 Wake In Fright, my favourite book is Marlon James' A Brief History Of Seven Killings, and my favourite bands are Guckkasten, Bursters and BTS. I'm so glad to be back. Senebty, Emsenet. PS: cat tax!
