Good point. The symbology certainly fits Mut as Female Nisut. For the record Hethert-Mut is quiet too, I know she's there but often not much more than that.

Hethert and Mut do tend to complement each other. Queen is translates as ' Great Royal Wife' which is why you had no regnant Queens, even women had to be King. 'Great Royal Wife' would usually be the mother of the heir. Hence the connection to mothers.

Everyone has made good suggestions for Netjeru to approach. I congratulate you on taking the first steps in counselling. Sometimes people realise they have been abused and do nothing. As another abuse survivor I can tell you that progress is likely to continue to be slow. It's not your fault and you have not caused Isfet.

I suspect you have a stronger connection to Set than I do.

Heru (any of them) and Set are both protectors of Royalty and therefore Kemet. People remember the first and forget the second.

Set rides with Ra in his barque. During the night when the barque travels through the duat, Set kills Ap*p for Ra.

We like questions.

Netjer is the Devine force from which all the gods come from. Senedjem is also right, the gods do have bodies.

My rare conversations with Set go something like this:
Me: Why should it be so hot and windy, Set? (I'm Australian)
Set: Because it needs to be.

I pray to Bast. I make offerings as part of an ongoing relationship. Other than that she contacts me.

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: Kemetic Orthodox views on suicide
« on: December 23, 2013, 01:59:45 pm »
It's definitely a view of suicide from Ancient Kemet. It's no replacement for professional help. I suppose to get help you need to go through mum's insurance?

A sense of connectedness to any community (including this one) will reduce your risks. My psychiatrist spends some time fretting over my reduced social life.

As for Netjer to quote the Nisut, head of HoN,  "the gods don't make junk".

Hethert is the goddess most associated with music - and dance. Her son Ihy is a music god. Ihy's father is Heru-behedy at Edfu.

Hethert-Mut loved my swing dancing lessons way back when.

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: Kemetic Orthodox views on suicide
« on: December 23, 2013, 06:05:30 am »
Please get professional help. I was suicidal from 15 but didn't get help until I was 19 in 2006. I'm now 28 on medications.

I also recommend reading "A conversation between a man and his Ba". It's in Lichtheim, Miriam, transl. Ancient Egyptian Literature: Middle Kingdom. (3 volumes). University of California Press, 1976.

Quote from: Marukay

I take it though, no sense in helping the people who don't want help. By the names, why didn't I see that? Reading it here was like "hey, that's what I use to tell others", now I missed it when I needed this advice.

Would asking for pacience after all be something I may do? It seems like having patience and some rest is all and best I can do here. :\\

Sometimes we get too close to the situation even if we would give specific advice to others.

I think asking for patience has been covered so I'll leave it there

Some people can't be helped. He has decided to live this way. Until he decides he needs help, you CAN'T help him. This may take a cosmic 2 x 4.

First do what you need to look after yourself. Not lending money was a good call. Second maybe try to help the people he hurt.  That way you're doing something without banging your head against a wall.

Finally look forward to the day he moves out.

It's far more meaningful to form relationships with Names than count them.

I can imagine Bast, Sekhmet and Heru-Wer enjoying Buffy

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: The Calling Of Kemeticism
« on: November 28, 2013, 12:50:55 am »
I'm kemetic because Bast insisted she was in my life. I saw cats everywhere until I acknowledged her. Hethert wandered in directly behind her.

Most neo-pagans (yes i know the temple is officially not neo-pagan.) in Australia are some type of Neo-Wicca, or Celtic. There just wasn't much out there for me.

I'm kemetic orthodox because I wanted an approach rooted in tradition and I didn't  want to have to reinvent the wheel.
