There are often times that I'm reminded just how spiritually defunct I am. Here is one example.
I never have spiritual moments concerning geography. A river is just... a river. A forest is a large grouping of trees.
I honestly think I'm one of those people who just aren't wired to believe in gods.

I must admit I don't often have spirital moments when looking at rivers or forests...not that I have rivers or forests to look at since I'm in the middle of a city. ^_^ Usually I'll get a flash of one of the Names when seeing a nice sunruse or something but it tends to be very brief and a rare treat when it happens. I think it's easy to get caught up in the hectic pace of our lives and either take nature's wonders and beuaty for granted or be oblivious to it all too often. Also in the US we aren't encouraged to display outward signs of faith in society, which doesn't help. Senebty, Imti

For me it's not so much fear but intimidation. I am intimidated by Sekhmet. I feel like She doesn't want me hanging round much, like She's one of the cool older kids in school and I'm a geeky little first year. She's got much more important things to do than worry about me.
Hotep Senneferet! *henu* I have gotten the unspecified annoyance from Sekhmet in the past as well. I've found it has to do with inappropriate behavior (in my case keeping folks at arms legnth emotionally out of fear of being hurt). Once you are able to face whatever it is She's not happy about and begin to deal with it, you'll find being in Her presence much more enjoyable. ^_^ Senebty, Imti

I just really see them as *totally* different beings, though similiar....friends or brothers/sisters maybe, but not 2 sides of the same coin...just my feelings on it....
I consider Wpwt and Anpu to be really close- like brothers, but not the same. Perhaps it's the closeness that gives them the "merged" feeling?

Hotep all! *henu* They are aspected as one or more names are "aspects" of the larger name (i.e. with Yinepu-Wepwawet....Yinepu is an aspect of Wepwawet. Wepwawet opens the way and goes first (at the head of the army, head of the procession, etc). Yinepu is the guide who gets us to where we need to go, or in simplistic terms a focused version of Wepwawet that deals with guiding (focused in again on the dead). Now this doesn't mean that Yinepu acts just like Wepwawet, as each Name has Their own personality and goals/focus and They can have differing opinions on a topic. If it helps, think of it like a break down of job function in our lives. If I work in IT, I could have anything to do with computing from programing to support to system maintenance (this would be akin to the "larger" name. Now if I focus in on say helpdesk support within IT it gives you a better idea of my focus (this would be akin to the "aspected" name). So in this example it would be like saying helpdesk-IT as an aspect vs IT-helpdesk (helpdesk has a different mindset with different goals than those of IT in general). Now bring this back out to one of my Mothers (Serqet) and Her relationship with Aset. They aren't sisters as in both being children of Nut, however Serqet is an aspect of Aset in that She generally represents "magic" focused in on "magic used for healing non physical injury" rather than "magic" in general or even the power of "magic" which would be Aset. Each has a different focus and different goals/agenda that They oversee. Hopefully that helps a little bit. ^_^ Senebty, Imti

Zahi is definitely a polarizing figure. Flamboyant and a nuisance, but he does get results when it comes to getting cultural artifacts back from other countries, regardless of how they were obtained.

Welcome to the boards and I hope you enjoy your time here! In regards to Serqet, you won't find much in the way of scholarly written material regarding Her. There is a single book in French regarding Her priests and worship (the name escapes me at the moment) but what I can offer is a little information about Her and offerings She likes. Serqet is acknowledged as both a healing goddess (primary function) as well as a goddess of magic (secondary function).
In regards to Her healing aspect, She focuses on non physical healing (dealing with emotional trauma, abuse, addictions, headaches, etc) rather than physical injuries (poisonous bites being an exception to that focus). In regards to Her magic focus it is primarily magic used for healing purposes rather than magic in general.
As far as offerings go, things you can offer Her are: lemons, limes, as well as lemonade and limeade, things that are acidic, things with a kick to them. You could also offer mint tea, Lady Grey tea, peppermint patties, peppermint milk (milk with peppermint and some sugar if wanted), spicy pepperoni. She also enjoys the Nature Valley Sweet and Salty almond cereal bars with the almond butter coating on the bottom. ^_^
For incense She likes Morning Star amber incense, and Morning Zen by Shoyeido. For stones She likes amber, garnet, obsidian, and red jasper for starters. Colors She likes are reds and oranges.
As far as times of more formal prayers, She has a preference for times of darkness, Her scorpion aspect in particular (although you can pray to Her at any time). Regarding the "feel" of Serqet when in scorpion mode, She has an "alien" or "primal" feel to Her which is kind of hard to explain but is obvious when spending time with Her.
Hopefully this has helped somewhat and given you some ideas for spending time with Her. ^_^

Not sure how much this will help you but I've found Ptah like pastrami sandwiches. ^_^ As far as how He has presented Himself to me the few times I've spoken with Him, He's been more hands on...think of the construction boss that works with his/her people and uses it as an oportunity to teach rather than just sitting back and supervising.
In addition to handcrafted artisan type creation, you can also approach Him for help with creation through speach (as in teaching others or preparing documentation, etc) since that was the way He created in the myths (the God said let there be light and there was kinda thing). ^_^ He's also good to approach if you need to plan something (i.e. you need to come up with the "blueprints" for what you want to do).
