I've been thinking lately about crossroads deities, and wondering if KO has any.

I don't know if KO has a "Netjer of the Crossroads" the way some traditions do, but I would look to Wepwawet, as Opener of the Way, for crossroads work.

As for liminal Netjer, Set fits as well--not as a psychopomp, but as a Name associated with edges and "outsiders" and places Not Here.

Praying for everyone in its path, and that it doesn't stall out and dump days of rain.

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: WANT TO SEE YOUR SHRINE PICTURES
« on: August 15, 2018, 10:08:28 am »
Lovely shrine pics from everyone!  I am one of those "Every flat surface becomes an altar or shrine" people, so I always appreciate seeing what others have made.

The new additions to my household (three kittens) has put a damper on that impulse for now, but it's only kicked up in the last two years or so...

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / What do you call your gods?
« on: March 19, 2018, 08:54:04 pm »
A fun thread to read through!

Yinepu: often just Yinepu or Anup, 'Nempu (courtesy of my sister and, when she was living, my
mom); Dad, Father, the Jackal, (my) Black-and-Gold God; various epithets, especially He Who Is Upon His Mountain and Foremost of the Westerners, but also Chief Physician, Judge, Guide and Guardian (of the Living and the Dead alike)

Nut: Nut, Starry One, Star-goddess, the (Patient) Mother. I have sung to Her before as Elbereth Gilthoniel

Set: usually just Set--the name comes off my tongue with all the weight one could ask for; Thunder God, God of Change, Red God, God of Outcasts; "yessir". While I'll describe Him as my uncle, I don't usually call Him that. (My partner, however, will call Him "[your] Uncle Set")

Nebt-het: Nebt-het, Dark Lady, Death, Mourner, Death Midwife, Weeping One

I wonder if that is one of the images in which Yinepu is adjusting the scales? In some depictions He is shown assisting the deceased by altering the balance of the scales on purpose.

My understanding has always been that your heart needs to be lighter or equal to the feather of Ma'at.

Em hotep, Alexis!

Welcome to the House! I too have been fascinated with Ancient Egypt since I was very young; funny how that works sometimes, isn't it? Hope to see you around the Boards.
