[PUBLIC] Welcome! / Re: New here - Hello!
« on: June 17, 2019, 02:23:53 pm »
Em hotep!  Welcome!  A dream originally led me here as well.  Follow the wisdom the Netjer send to you in your dreams.  Through them and following the wisdom of the 42 negative confessions I have learned to live a more balanced life.  Peace be with you.

No worries.  I personally feel a deep connection to Set.  I keep a statue in my bedroom so he is the first I see daily to help remind me to keep strong.  It makes me happy seeing others having similar appreciations for Set.   :)

There is a nice prayer/ceremony to Set in the "Eternal Egypt" book by Reidy.  I feel it seems to honor Set well.

[PUBLIC] Netjer (Our Gods & Goddesses) / Re: Set and anger
« on: May 28, 2019, 01:00:49 pm »
I'm sorry this is so late in comparison to the other posts.  I feel that Set is my father also.  I have never been angry with him.  I feel he is a 'hands off' teacher allowing, no expecting, me to find my way with minimal guidance.  If is he perceived as 'angry' that is not correct.  It is strength.  Strength is what He is.  If you have anger turn that 'energy' into productivity.  His anger is the storms of the desert which as you know actually brings benefit to the desert (think cycle of nature).  Strength is how He prevails and He expects us to find this in ourselves.  Through Him I have found strength to do what I need to do regardless of chronic, constant pain.  I thank Him for leading by example and showing me the way to channel strength and anger into positive, beneficial productivity.

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Festival information
« on: August 15, 2013, 03:50:08 pm »
i understand that the calendar has many festivals and i want to be more a part of it in terms of understanding and participation.  How do i find out what each festival/holy day/feast is about?  i've been feeling sort of 'disconnected' and i want to reconnect and grow some more in my understanding of Kemetic belief.

any info would be appreciated!!!

Set is also strength.  He Himself is very strong.  He has been a big part of my life for the last 2 years.  I suffer from chonic nerve pain on the entire right half of my body.  there have been days where i had trouble walking or even sleeping. I can not truly remember a day in the last 2 years where i have not hurt, or limped where i had to use a cane.  I found a beautiful statue of Set for my shrine.  I speak with Him daily and feel that His influence, love, support have helped me greatly as i find it in me to still work 40+ hours per week, get all errands done and even play with my kids (even playing soccer). Am i beloved of Set?  I believe I am as i feel His strength within me, helping me push through my days and getting things done for myself and my family.  I praise Him.

Do  not be intimidated by Set.  Understand and appreciate His direct approach and strength.  If you speak to Set dont be a beat 'around the bush' kinda person. Be "politely direct" (if that makes any sense)  He truly is great!

Thinking on that...  his face behind him...  would it necessarily mean that someone is looking behind themself or that their (true) face is hidden behind them (their facade) as the 'wink' was considered as corrupt  <- i say that part because i found in the archives a lecture on this one and what the 'wink' meant

True.  Our 'shadow selves' ARE part of ourselves.  In order for us to embrace ourselves the shadow must be embraced as well.  How else can we know ourselves to make ourselves better?  If we know and accept our shadow(s) then we can make ourselves a stronger whole that works towards improvement.  If chaos is part of me then I am part chaos but it does not need to define me as long as I understand the nature of myself.
