I have added Yinepu to the shrine now, so it looks a bit different now.
Bast stands to the right with one of the candleholders beside her, and Yinepu stands to the left, with his candleholder.
In between them is a tall and simple vase with the unlit incense, and in front of the vase is a low glass tea-light holder that I have pressed some blue-tack into to hold the incense sticks in place.
It's a bit more crammed, so I hope no more Netjeru will claim me as theirs... or else I'd have to put shrines up all over.

Hugs

Em hotep, Kathleen. *Henu*

Thank you. Your words fill me with joy.

I have had this shrine in my mind for a long time now, but had to wait until my Bast Icon arrived from the States, and wait for some guidelines and clues as to what a Senut Shrine contains.

When Bast finally came home the 4th of Dec, I placed her in her Shrine in a state of bliss.
I lit some sweet Lotus Incense and the candles beside her, and just sat there, feeling serene and filled with awe and love for her.

I do not know how to practice the Senut yet, and will do it the way the Priests advice me to when I take the Beginners Class, but I still felt I wanted to do something, so before I even got away to the post office, I showered, splashed a bowl of salted water (no natron yet I'm afraid) washed my hair, cut my nails, brushed my teeth and washed my mouth with the salted water, then I put new clothes on and my most fragrant and expensive perfume, the one I ONLY use for big parties, such as my Wedding anniversary, birthdays, and such, just because I felt that I simply could not greet her if I just came to collect her. Just like I can't meet up with a long lost friend without trying to look and be my best for this persons sake.
I know it's just a "statuette", but it didn't feel this way for me. It felt so much more than that.
It just felt right to be clean before meeting her, for I was not picking up a dead piece of statuary, I was going to greet my BEST friend, tutor and Guide, she who found me when I was around eight years old and has been with me ever since, sometimes in the shadows to keep me whole, and sometimes (more and more over the years) in the limelight, openly enjoying my adoration for her.
Without her, I would, I think, never have encountered the Kemetic Orthodox Faith, and this Church, and would still meander around Wicca as my only source of inspiration for my Kemetic Faith.
So, what ever parents I may get (If it is not her and/or Sekhmet as my mother) I will still honour her first, since she is the one that brought me to K.O and to all you wonderful people sharing my thoughts as you read them.

As for the Sekhmet statue, I have searched all over the internet for a similar statue, but have not been able to find one.
The interesting thing with this little piece is that it seems as though she has pointed ears, and so I wonder if it really is Sekhmet, or if it is someone else...
I found her in a little corner shop called "Crown House" in my home town. She stood hidden behind a lot of Halloween brick-a-brack, some inexpensive and ugly looking fat faires sitting on toads and mushrooms, and some cheap bottles of perfume.
Not at all a fitting place for the Great Eye of Ra.
The price stunned me too. Three dollars. THREE!
Now she has a better place in my shrine, where she gets the proper attention a Goddess of the Flaming Desert deserves.

I did create a clay sculpture of a seated Sekhmet to put in the shrine, but it has not dried yet (it's this clay you don't have to heat up to get to harden, I think it's called Plastiroc...)
and it is way to large for my shrine which, if she was placed there, would fall from the wall...
But I will paint her golden and red when she has dried (in two months or so...) and she will be seated in a shrine in my bookshelf.

Wow, this answer became longer than I meant it to be.
But that's me, I blab away.

Once again, thank you for your positive feedback on my shrine.

Lots of blessings

This is my inofficial shrine to Bast and Sekhmet.
I have not been divinated yet (longing), but I still need a place to talk to my Patron Goddess.

Enjoy.
