PM TabauAmunet here on the forums. She is Amunet's only divined child so far, but she can tell you a lot about her. Also, try digging through the forums. Recently there was a thread about Amunet's connection with Mut.

I support bees but my boyfriend is terrified of them. Instead, I buy local honey to support our beekeepers.

Bumping this old thread because it was an interesting read. I noticed a search engine spider looking at it and thought I might check it out.

Prayers that Sekhmet may heal him. May the wise Akh Imhotep aid his doctors, and may he be well again soon!

Welcome, Dorothy! We loves seeing new faces, and each of us has been led here one way or another (my Father is the guide of the dead, but He likes to do other guiding things too!). I hope the transition to the Northwest goes smoothly!

Animal sacrifice is not inherently wrong if it minimizes the animal's suffering and holds a spiritual context. I don't know if I could ever do it, but I refuse to condemn someone else for their spiritual practice. If they are being cruel, it is one thing, but if they are being careful to be humane, I have no issue with it.

Just my 2 cents though :)

I don't have much of a connection to Aset or Mut, but the feelings I get from Them are much different. I get a feeling of "I am Wesir's Queen, and I am mother to THE KING. You will listen to everything I have to say." I don't hear from Her often, but She is clear about what She is saying to me when She shows up. Whenever I have addressed Mut, I get the whole regal "you may speak now, royal subject." She listens, She considers, and then She renders her will. However, as the Sovereign, I feel that She doesn't feel like She has to 'answer to anyone'. Though you may or may not get your request granted, She doesn't have to tell you anything unless She wants to.

Just my limited experience. YMMV.

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: January 2014 Beginners Class
« on: February 13, 2014, 08:18:13 am »
Everyone should expect a response, even if it is to say that the class is full and to try again next time. I have no idea who was/wasn't accepted or anything, but I do know that every single application gets some sort of response, provided that it was received.

Hotep, Marukay!

I know exactly how you feel, and I was just as antsy when I was in your position. Please keep in mind that the majority of us do not know with any more certainty when the class will officially begin. I have kept a close eye on posts, and the only thing I've been hearing is the same 'soon' message (meaning we're not holding back any info. None of us really know either). As soon as I know, I will post here if someone else hasn't posted the date here first. I'll pray that Wepwawet may open the way for this soon.

Sounds like a plan, Nubwy! :) I'm really glad someone responded. Yay! :D

Do you have any preference among the options I listed? I know some people don't like kids, some people don't like being around the elderly, and some people are uncomfortable around the homeless, so I'd just like to be as accommodating as possible.

I'm so glad you came around to check us all out. I really love this religion and community, and even if you decide it's not really something you want to convert to, I think you'll find your life enriched from the experience alone :)
