In the spirit of the new Kemetic year, I'd like to crowd source some of folks favorite songs that remind them of Wepwawet! "White Owl" by Josh Garrels is one of mine.

There's been a lot of discussion around the 'net lately about the Rite of Parent Divination! I'd love to have some more discussions here, as a resource for current and future members who are considering the RPD. Questions! - What does the RPD mean to you?
- Why did or didn't you choose to take the RPD?

Hotep, all! I am looking for sources (textual) with information on Sokar, as well as prayers (ancient or modern) to Him. I'm working on a rite for Him, but don't want to rely entirely on doxa here. I'm not fantastic at finding things however, so hoped some of you might have book ideas that you would share. Sources relating to the lunar cycle in Kemet also welcome for this. Books I currently have (or that the Library has): Red Land, Black Land (Mertz) The Ancient Gods Speak (Redford et al.) Temples, Tombs, and Hieroglyphs (Mertz) The Daily Life of the Egyptian Gods (Meeks) Complete Gods and Goddesses (Wilkinson) Conceptions of God in AE (Hornung) AE Prayerbook (Rev. Siuda)

There was a shooting at the Aurora, CO premiere for The Dark Knight Rises. Ten dead on site, two dead in hospitals, and 38 wounded. Redditor integ3r has compiled news in these four posts, likely with more to come: one, two, three, and four. Praying for healing, comfort, and justice to all.

I know that we have a few multi-faith members who are fairly active on these boards, and I know that some of us have practices originating in other faiths that we participate in for mystical reasons or as part of honoring our ancestors.
For those of you who are multi-faith, how did you come to be so? How do you reconcile your faiths when they disagree? Do you hold one religion in a higher standing than others?

Em hotep everyone,
I've never really been one for rituals and heka. Perhaps it's part of the sola scriptura way that I was raised. Regardless, Senut and our group Duas tend to be the extent of my rites. Recently, I've felt drawn to perhaps try my hand at being more proactive in the mystical sense.
Which leads to my question: how important is ritual in your religious life? If there is anything you wish to share about the sorts of ritual you do, please share, as my knowledge of rituals are scant and all from a dualistic Wheel of the Year perspective.

Em hotep, all!
My name is Avonell (or Avy for short), and my board name used to be Astra. Now that I've changed to my given name, I thought it would be a good idea to post here and reintroduce myself to you all.
I found the House when I was fifteen and have lurked these boards since then, gleaning what knowledge I can about the faith. I recently completed the beginners' course and I am now a Remetj!
I've decided to start a spirituality blog, so if anyone has suggestions for topics, I would appreciate that!
Wonderful to meet and re-meet you all!

I recently have felt the need to get to know Wesir. A few nights ago, I prayed and told Him that I would like to get to know Him. He then proceeded to tell me to eat some celery.
Anyone know of a connection here?

Em hotep!
I read on the section about becoming a beginner that KO requires the consent of anyone you're living with in order to sign up. Is this the case?
The person I live with is a staunch Christian. She actually stole and threw away my copy of the prayerbook while I was hospitalized. There is no way that I can get her permission, and it's unlikely that I'll be able to move out any time soon.

Em hotep.
I've read in some threads that many of you avoid performing rituals - be it Senut, a State rite, or Heka - while under the influence of medication that alters your mind. However, I take mind altering medication daily to treat my mental health issues, being unable to fight them on my own. Does this make me impure?
