Welcome back Khai :)

[PUBLIC] Kemetic Orthodox Q&A / Re: Questioning Faith
« on: May 09, 2017, 07:23:40 am »
I've been with the House since 2000(2001?) and frankly I'm sort of at this point myself. I've had very strong and leading dreams calling me to Pure Land Buddhism (and also the Urantia Book is pulling me from that as well, but nothing's certain there yet...) It *is* stressful. I feel like I'm betraying my Gods but also that something in me is evolving away from it and also being actively CALLED away to something different.
How many theologies can I be expected to juggle? Yet I know damn well the Names exist, I've met too many to deny it. Yet Amida Buddha exists. The Urantia Book came from somewhere.
To be honest, some days I'd just like to pull a metaphorical blanket over my head and go back to sleep.

Oh! Now I am glad for this thread. I also practice Vodou and for the last year and one half a return to Buddhism, this time Pure Land Buddhism after a series of strong dreams basically told me "GO THERE".
I sometimes feel that vodou (and having two wives in that tradition) take a lot of time away from what could be for Kemetic things (but not overly much I guess.. I think just the petitionary needs got knocked down from the Gods to the Lwa). The worldviews are also both African derived and so they meld pretty well.
Buddhism has been giving me headaches and worry though. The worldviews are harder to reconcile I think. If I daily take refuge in Buddha, Dharma, Sangha is that a slight to Djehuty et al.? In my heart I don't know, but Brain gets in the way... I've seriously considered leaving or downgrading my membership here in the House because of the tension. I'm slowly getting to an accomodating place in my head I hope.
Anyway, I'm glad the thread started (similar threads have happened in the past but it's good to restart them now and again because Spirit is never still)

Father mostly... dad only sometimes. Depends if he's striking me as being formal or not at the time.

His baboon form is often much more the trickster personality. In myth it's often this form that acts up a bit to get things done. For example telling dirty stories to Sekhmet to get her (and the sun) to come back when she went off. In His ibis form he's more formal, brisk and business like.
